I made a practice grid edit thread- you all may post in there if you'd like to discuss the grids and the way it looks.
So far what I have in the first post seems to work well because I do have a symbol that holds the slot and the #-

If this grid works better then what I have going, let me know in that thread. The symbols that work best all use 4 charactures + the number and the two ":", which works well when editing if there is already a place holder in the slots.
Anyways, let me know what you guys think in that thread, or feel free to make a grid in there to see what I am talking about for trying to improve a methid for the grids.
