You know, if they actually made the Pokemon anime in a style like that with an actual story that doesn't revolved around extremely dated Team Rocket gags, I would even wake up early on weekend mornings to watch it.

Whille the current show is still geared toward children, you are aware that Team Rocket hasn't been played for gags since BW, right?

Back on topic. The trailer is great. Worth getting just to see more N.

It doesn't matter. They've been played for gags probably since the Orange Island series. The older crowd (read: anybody older than ten) has long since gotten tired of their schtick. If they wanted TR to be played for anything OTHER than gags, they should have replaced the major TR team with actually decent characters.

And nobody here's saying that there's no worth in the current anime. There is worth. It's the entry-level media into the Pokemon world. It's perfectly designed for the U10 crowd. That being said, there's a relative desert when it comes to 15+ programming. What we're looking for is something at least a little bit more mature, with a definite starting and ending point. It would be great if they animated the Pokemon Adventures manga, even though it's not a great manga relative to other mangas out there. Making a complete series out of this promo would be nothing short of incredible.

From a financial stantpoint, it's a good idea too.

Under 10 watches Series A
15+ Watches series B
11-14 is going to watch both
Small portion of 15+ will watch series A
Small portion of 10 and under will watch series B as well
That's all an assumption of course.

Increase your audience big time.

There's also the small portion of 15+ (raises hand) That would happily watch both, as opposed to one or the other.

Following a tournament pokemon trainer would be good, his story of attending events and catching new pokemon for upcoming tourneys. Ash's was more a long journey with lots of adventure episodes which bore dme a little. Always wanted more gym fights or episodes about events and the likes.
