Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Black and White rules out of the box

The supporter rule is not that bad. Just be an honest player, sheesh. There are cards that work with supporters in the discard both now and in the past. The best example would probably be Banette EX. To me this rule just says they are planning on having more cards that work with supporters in the discard in the future. If there is a supporter close to the top or on the top of the discard pile then it was probably played that turn. Nobody is going to buy "I don't remember" from people who actually do want to cheat because supporters provide significant effects. If the same person comes to attention more then even once probably they're not going to be getting away with it. Take a chill pill peeps.

I'm pretty excited for this set, holding back Max Potion or whatever and Catcher was a good move. Are the starters the good versions?

aw no max restore :( thats gonna make my Steelix/Klinklang deck not have its full power for a few more months, though i do see the point of not putting it and poke catcher in right now sp and gyarados would be really powerful with them.

also i wonder if there being 2 versions of the starters means we get both and ability and non ability ones

Uxie donk won't be that great?

now it will have to go first or it'll loose, whereas before it had a chance if it went first. New plus power ruling kills all late game uxie donk has, it goes first and wins or it does nothing now. Most players will not want a deck that will win 50% of the time =/

So we're not getting the holofoil borders like Japan did? No Gothitelle or Max potion? I understand the reason for pokemon catcher though.

How does this affect Broken Time-Space? Can I still evolve if I play it on my first turn or do I need to wait a turn?

I honestly don't get why they keep delaying cards. This has to end at a point, its getting ridiculous.

My mouth is so far on the ground right now, I can't possible recompose myself.

You speak the solid truth.

I want to speak my mind about this topic, but I feel I would really jeopardize my professor status if I spoke my mind how I really feel.

To put it straight, TPCi is doing a huge injustice to the game by taking the sets into their hands, and literally shredding and pasting the sets back together. It's a horrible, horrible thing, even if they want to use the 'health of the format' as an excuse.

Where was TPCi when they let all the SP crap go wild on the format? Why all of the sudden must they withhold Lost World, Pokemon Catcher, pokemon like Beartic and Gothetelle?

I'm really losing my steam over this and I don't know what to do.

I'm going to have to come back to this thread later, maybe once I find my composure.

This is nuts, TPCi, why do this?

:nonono::nonono::nonono::nonono::nonono::nonono::nonono::nonono::nonono::nonono::nonono::nonono::nonono::nonono::nonono::nonono::nonono::nonono::nonono::nonono::nonono::nonono::nonono::nonono::nonono::nonono::nonono::nonono::nonono:

The point is that well probably get another filler set next, japan had these weird awful starter decks instead of a real set so well get another fller to fill lol. I have a ton of sour grapes but I dont blame anyone for this, they have to use something to make the set worth it. Just hope well get better reprints

The errata is just for Rare Candy. The specific text on Broken Time-Space still permits doing what you want to do.

So to get to Stage 2 in the first turn with the new rules, you must play BTS and then Rare Candy.

WOAH! That was unexpected. Well, with dem new rules, let's hope that some donk threats *cough cough sableye* get rotated. Aside from that, if these are the set lists, I'm liking the simplicity: No primes, EX's, LvX's, LEGENDS, or any of that crud. That's pretty cool. Anyways, I see we're getting 2 Bouffalan, 2 Zebstrika, 2 Alomomola, and more, whereas there were only one of each in the JP black/white collections. Wonder if there's some useful guys that are English sets-only?
Also, they didn't butcher rare candy quite as badly as I thought they would, though it now seems its sole purpose is skipping stage 1's and going right to stage 2's...

Why not just straight BTS? Lay your basic then stage one. You just played the stage one so then play the stage two.

I believe my opinion is summed up quite well by the clip from The Office where Stanley goes off on Michael (look it up on youtube). At some point, you have to really wonder if POP (or whatever abbreviation they use now) has any idea what they're doing when it comes to the game...

Actually, before it never had a chance if it went first because it couldn't play trainers supporters, which is kind of counterproductive to Uxie donk...?

If you go first, you auto win. If you go second, you auto-win unless your opponent plays donk oriented deck. Definitely far from 50% of the time, good sir.

Argh, I actually wanted to see the GoW reprint break the format.

Otherwise, I see no problem. Juniper and Communication reprints are nice.
