Upper Energy? hmmm it seems like we finally have a replacement for the original special energy - even though it has its drawbacks. It worked for Scramble energy, why not "DCE 2"?

I agree with some of the above posters unfortunately, many of the cards in this set seem....old - what I mean is that most of the cards seem to have originated from the VS series cards, and really have no place in the current format. 60 for 4 energy? Wow, thats great, let me get out my base set Venusaur, oh wait...

With that said, there are definately some worthwhile cards in this set, and assuming that the SP pokemon can use the trainers from Galactic's Conquest, they may surprise me.

Love Flygon, Alakazam, Shiftry, Eevee's, Weezing, Beedrill, HUNGRY HUNGRY HIPPOS, all of the trainers and energy, oh and I just like cut rotom for some reason-he looks like he is ready for some mischief.

why? Because the reprint cards are clearly meant for collectors rather then actual players (Why reprint the relatively weak Charizard line in IFDS/Stormfront when you could have the powerful Blastoise line printed? 'cause Charizard was more popular of a card.) The pikachus (Flying/Surfing) were promos only in the past, and thus hard to come by. Looks good for pulling collectors/casual kids who wanna see Pikachu looking different/etc.

Damn straight! The reworked Pikachu base set is a must have for me!!! The art is also getting better across the set, which is encouraging.

Not everyone plays with the cards :thumb:

Hippowdon is crazy, that power will be real sick to play with
Floatzel is also good.
OMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMG DAMAGE SWAP, <3 Kazam X
Gallade isn't bad
Luxray, eh...
Flygon is crazy, it might be pretty good
Infernape isn't bad.
Eeveelutions are strong, with the exception of Glaceon IMO (I'll still use Snow Cloak =P)
The Flint's Spirit Supporter is really cool actually, additional energy attachment
Lucian's is alright
Aaron's isn't bad,

with all the new Supporters in Bonds, etc. I think we will see A LOT of SP decks

Vibrava is very nice, and...why are we even concerned about Flygon? There are sooooo many things that prevent damage on the bench, etc. Just tech something like that in

Flygon does bench damage? Did I miss something?

Oh right the Lv.X. But the original Flygon from this set is still amazing

Could someone explain what exactly Hippowdon Lv.X's power affects? I just don't get it lol...

Floatzel Lv.X is really cool. The Trainers and Energy are awesome and really well-designed. SP Pokemon are going to be everywhere after this.

^Energy and trainers attached: TS-01 and TS-02's

Shiftry seems to be the harbinger of the end for Gengar....

And who thinks that Volkner looks like the 4th Hokage?

On the other hand, I'm mad. The dumbest Pokemon ever, Floatzel, gets Feraligatr's awesome attack. Buit I still think Feraligatr>Floatzel.

Alakazam X and Damage Swap will be dangerous, although I'm frustrated by his weak attacks and him having Recover, which is really no help when you have Damage Swap.

Aerodactyl GL will be the starter for any Fighting SP deck if it has any, for obvious reasons.

I'm loving Trapinch and just seeing all kinds of reasons to play Fighting Energy in the deck. Energy accel AND free retreat for Claydol? Yes please.

Maybe I'm just stupid, but I'm pretty impressed with Gastrodon this time around. I'll have to look into him.

Lucario GL provides an interesting alternative to Lake Boundary, as well as having at least a fair attack.

Hippowdon Lv. X, I have to be honest, I never saw that coming. Call me crazy, but might this card have a future, WITH Flygon? We'll see...

Another dumb Aggron, another day...

Jirachi? That attack? That Power? humina humina humina....

Jolteon, Flareon, and Vaporeon are now their own deck, no other eeveelutions needed. Multi Energy for quick, interchangeable, GREAT attacks.

Snorlax has potential, particularly if we get the level X, which wouldn't be so bad in combination.

Right, Manetric pretty much crushed most all spread decks, but if a Lv. X is your main attacker, Flygon is still scary.

EXCEPT, Manectric can still be targeted by attacks, not to mention....Dialga G. Lv. X. And even without that attack, everything else he has is still insane.

That and, most people won't tech Manectric into their decks unless this gets uberly popular.
Shiftry seems to be the harbinger of the end for Gengar....

Doesn't your opponent's Gengar's power work on your turn whereas, the translation for Shiftry works during your opponent's turn?

People still don't get that kingdra isn't that good..ugh. lol anyways, this set has a rediculous amount of techs that just sit on the bench and change matchups. X_x ugh fun fun.
