Everything about this card is bad.
1 for 40
4 for 60 +
4 Retreat
only thing it has decent is lightning resistance.

2/10

FIRSTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT

hey, it's hp isnt bad either.. Last time i checked, 140 is above average.

But yea, I pretty much agree, this card sux.

Today's Bonus CotD is Mamoswine from LA, a rather bad use of holofoil. Statwise, 140 HP is great for a Stage 2 (10 more than average), +40 Weakness to :metal: is eh, -20 Resistance to :lightning: is great, and :colorless::colorless::colorless::colorless: to Retreat is super expensive. Ice Fang is bad...even with DCE...:water::colorless::colorless: for 40 is bleh, and the flip effect doesn't add too much; Head you get paralysis (which is nice), Tails you get to discard an Energy off the Defending. If Ice Fang did more damage it would definitely be a lot more useful. Charge Through isn't much better; :fighting::colorless::colorless::colorless: for a base 60 is weak, and while the option to deal another 40 and 40 to one of the opponent's benched is nice, costing you 40 HP isn't.

Modified - 1/10 (No real reason to use this, there are much better Stage 2 Pokemon out there that won't cost you an arm and leg to use)
Limited - 4/10 (Hard to get out, but the HP is impressive if anything, and by the time he comes out you should have had enough time to get at least Ice Fang going)
Unlimited - 1/10 (No use here, horrible attacks that you won't use due to ER/SER, and a Retreat Cost that makes him an easy target to GoW up and leave hanging)

Just to correct an otherwise nice post. You have to flip heads to get any effect, but then you also win the jackpot.. or not. :)

This card isn't as good as the other Mamoswine, in my opinion. Both of them require a ton of Energy to make work, but if you have enough healing, you can run through quite a few Pokemon if you're also lucky with coin flips. Its attacks only requiring 1 Energy of a color is useful too.

Unfortunately, it's too slow to really make a splash in today's environment. In Unlimited, though, Boost Energy is this card's best friend... or Scramble Energy.

I cry to see how bashed this card is ._.

Shoulda seen it at states this year...it actually did really well >.>

Honestly imo this card isn't that bad. Let's break it down.

140 hp is pretty nice and it's weakness to steal means that unless ur playing in a dialga g format odds are you're sticking around for a few turns. Expert belt turns this into 160 which is pretty nice.

It's first attack can use DCE which is pretty nice and it has potential to set your opponent's energy attachment back a turn along with paralysis which is pretty cool.

Attack #2 can guarantee you 100 flat damage while also hitting something on the bench for 40. Using this twice can KO a fairy (or claydol last season). With expert belt you can bat for a solid 80 with no set backs or plow through things wih 120 or less hp.

Retreat is bad, but I don't see you retreating with this card anyways. Resistance to thunder is nice, but I say this only because of luxray which will pry be bright looking up smaller stuff to KO.

Now taking in a mechanic not on the actual card. There's a pretty cool lower stage that can utilize memory berry for tanking. Sure you can't use it with expert belt, but you don't really need it if I remember right.

Just throwing it out there that I think this card is underrated...and I hate stage 2s...

Mamoswine seems like a bit of a typical stage 2 to be honest. Its first attack, 40 for three (two with a DCE), does 40, and you can flip a coin, if heads, the defending gets paralyzed and you discard an energy on the defending. Its second attack, 60 for four (three with a DCE), can give you the option of doing 100 damage and 40 to one of your opponent's bench. If you do, Mamoswine must do 40 damage to itself. Yep, right now, this card looks mediocre at best.

140 HP is impressive for a stage 2. Metal weakness is a considerable pain, the lightning resistance is fantastic, and the retreat cost is just way too heavy.

Overall 3/10 in modified, 6/10 in limited, and 2/10 in unlimited

In modified, this card is not really a satisfying card to use right now. It relies a lot on DCE, so it is pretty slow to attack with, and that is pretty much the big reason. Many SP decks, and other fast decks, can stop Mamoswine before it fully sets up. The retreat cost is also a huge pain, so it is going to be tough to pull back when it gets heavily damaged. Its weakness to Dialga G is also painful, especially since it is plus 40. Yet, despite these downsides, this card has its pluses. For one, it is tough to take out with that high HP. It also has lightning resistance, so Luxray isn't going to KO it easily. It can even do some impressive damage, 100 at the most to be exact.

In limited, this card is a bit better. Once again, high HP, lightning resistance, and high damage really makes this card an impressive one to use, but speed is the big issue once again. With no DCE here, it won't be that easy to attack with. Therefore, one should be weary when using it.

In unlimited, this card is back to being below average. Speed is once again a big issue, and so is the weakness and retreat cost. Many cards can easily counter this card as well. Still, despite this, Mamoswine is not entirely useless. It still has the potential to hit for high damage, and the resistance and HP is certainly something impressive to look at.
