Hey!

I had a question about some booster boxes...

All these questions apply to Dragons Exalted and Plasma Storm.

And if I put this in the wrong section of the website, sorry. Mods, feel free to move it.

My main question is what should I expect? For example, how many EXs are there per box? How many Full Arts? Basically, I'd just like a short list of all the 'decent' stuff to expect from a box. Can someone give me a hand here?
 
There is not a "guaranteed" pull rate, even though some claim there is. You can generally expect something along these lines:

x1 Ace Spec
x2 EX (can be FA or reg)
possible SR, though not a large one.

I received the exact same pulls in both of my PS boxes, and they were:

Lugia EX non-FA
Moltres EX
Cobalion EX non-FA
Blastoise SR
Dowsing Machine
Victory Piece

These pulls were probably some of the best I have ever gotten, and are by no means the 'norm.' To sum it up, there is no 'expected' pull rate of any booster box. Boxes are the same as packs, you may get something great, or you may get next to nothing.
 
From what I've seen, you generally get 5-6 ultra rares. Beyond that, there's no guarantee. I've opened boxes with no FA as well as a box with a FA Lugia, FA Cobalion and SR Charizard. Sets prior to this was pretty standard on what to expect like BCX you got 2 ACE (either Crystal Edge and Crystal Wall or Computer Search and Gold Potion), 1x FA EX, 2x EXs (iirc). Then you can get a FA Supporter and/or a SR. I opened only 2 boxes with a FA Supporter from that set.
 
Alright, cool. I got my box of Dragons Exalted today, and the only really notable stuff I pulled were 2 Mew EXs. A little disappointing, but maybe I'll do better in Plasma Storm.
 
Dragons Exalted and Plasma Storm specifically were the sets that I got zero FAs from my boxes, and I bought TWO Dragons boxes... :/ But yeah, the average is around six chase cards in Plasma Storm.
 
I've personally watched one of my friends open a Boundaries Crossed box and only pull 1 Ace Spec and one non-FA EX and that was it. And another of my friends opened a box of Plasma Storm and pulled all 3 Ace Specs and 2 non-FA EXs and that was it.

Though my box of Boundaries Crossed had 2 EXs, 2 FAs and 2 Ace Specs. And my box of Plasma Storm had 2 non-FA EXs, 1 FA EX, 1 Ace Spec and 1 shiny (Charizard). And my Dragons Exalted box had 2 non-FA EXs and 2 FA EXs.

Oh, wait. I got my sets mixed up since I was thinking of the last 2 sets (Boundaries Crossed and Plasma Storm). Thanks for pointing that out. I'll go edit my post and fix it.

Good pulls on the PS box, if you sold them all you could probably get your money back (if that is why you bought the box, though I don't believe it is). As for the DEX box, yeah those were some pretty poor pulls.
 
I've never bought a box, but the current circulation booster pulls are the worst I've ever had. I think the B&W-on sets' rare cards must be rarer than those of previous sets.

For Plasma Storm, you pulled all 3 ACE Specs, a shiny, and the two most sought after full arts from the set. I'd say that's almost as good as it gets! Getting the Black Kyurem EX is really good, too. I'd say those cards alone more than paid for the box.

The Dragons Exalted box though...yikes, that does seem like a dud. No full art, and getting the same EX twice? I love Mew, but if I was trying to collect every card, that would annoy me. I would just stick to buying singles from DEX, $90-100 can get you a good amount of the EX's/shinies from the set.
 
Well, I wasn't thinking of selling off every single card I got, but I might consider trading/selling some of the Ace Specs and maybe the Colress. The DEX didn't end all that bad - I ended up trading one of the Mew EXs for a White Kyurem EX (facepalm, just pulled it) and a Reshiram EX, neither of them FA. Thanks again for all your help!
