Headed over with friends to Hadley (Thanks for the ride!). It was about an hour and a half from where we were… and yet it had pretty low attendance. I’m pretty sure it’s the only NE venue in a mall. Anyways, I thought to play Flytrap for some reason XD
I play Luxray GL over Palkia. Don’t bash before you try; Palkia is KO’d by enemy Luxray and Poké Turns allow me to take advantage of Chatot G more effectively. I don’t remember the exact list but it went something like this:

Pokémon: 26
1 : Flygon Lv.X, RR-105
1 : Luxray GL Lv.X, RR-109
3 : Flygon, RR-5
1 : Machamp, SF-20
2 : Claydol, GE-15
2 : Vibrava, RR-53
1 : Giratina, PL-9
1 : Chatot G, SV-54
1 : Relicanth, SV-79
1 : Unown G, GE-57
1 : Machop, SF-64
1 : Azelf, LA-19
1 : Crobat G, PL-47
1 : Luxray GL, RR-9
4 : Trapinch, SW-115
2 : Baltoy, GE-60
1 : Duskull, SF-SH2
1 : Dusknoir, DP-2

Trainers/ Supporters/ Stadiums: 23
1 : Premier Ball, SF-91
4 : Team Galactic's Invention G-105 Poké Turn, PL-118
1 : Switch, GS-102
4 : Rare Candy, UL-82
1 : Luxury Ball, SF-86
4 : Roseanne's Research, OP8-11
4 : Bebe's Search, RR-89
1 : Palmer's Contribution, SV-139
3 : Memory Berry, PL-110

Energy: 11
4 : Call Energy, MD-92
2 : Double Colorless Energy, GS-103
4 : Fighting Energy, GS-120
1 : Psychic Energy, DP-127

R1 VS Dennis (?) w/ Salamence
Got an early KO on a Belted Shelgon, then trapped up a Claydol until he decked.
1-0

R2 VS Thomas A. w/ SP toolbox-ish thing
I did lots of Power Swings and bought time with Sand Tomb. I used Dusknoir at a critical moment and used Relicanth and Machamp to take the last two prizes.
2-0

R3 VS Nathaniel L. w/ Luxpluff
I tried to lock his Claydols up and bought lots of set-up time, but we both were not drawing into anything. I used Chatot to discard a Warp Point, but unfortunately there was another one. I put it at the bottom of the four cards hoping he would shuffle the deck, but he went for Cosmic and got the Warp. I then Sand Tombed the Claydol to death but still couldn’t deck him. I Sand Walled and Dark Palmed; whatever would keep me alive. The deck wasn’t serving its intended purpose, but it was taking prizes. Eventually he had me in a near-unwinnable situation: he had one prize left, I had two, and I had nothing to his double Pluff. I took the only choice I had left: Machop, candy, Machamp, DCE, Hurricane Punch on a Belted Pluff. Only 1 heads, which didn’t even reduce the number of heads I’d need. As I had hoped, he was unable to OHKO Machamp, seeing as my bench was two Pokémon strong, I believe. He did retreat however, for a non-belted Pluff. I used Switch, Bright Look, retreat, and Hurricane Punch. Heads, heads, tails….. HEADS! Lucksacking it all the way.
3-0

R4 VS Noah L. w/ Plox
I couldn’t get anything going versus his lock, after having my desirable hand Judged in. This was fairly simple, and painful I might add.
3-1

T2 are posted, and I happen to be in.

T2 VS Noah L. w/ Plox
Game 1: My very nice hand is shuffled in, and after 3 or 4 turns of being locked, I scoop to save time.
0-1
Game 2: He gets nothing out. I candy Machamp, and although he uses Future Sight to rearrange his deck, I use Chatot G to keep the garbage toward the top of his deck. Take Out KOs both Ralts.
1-1
Game 3: Thank god, this ends up being a legit game unlike the first two. He gets a huge early lead, but I eventually manage to close the gap, and it stays 1-1 on prizes for awhile. This game involved lots of Power Swinging, and eventually I Inviting Trap his Spiritomb as a last-ditch effort, as he had used much of his energy already. He puts down Moonlight FTW. GG Noah!
1-2

Props:
2nd
Flytrap
Hurricane Punch lucksack
Doing well with a generally bad deck :p

Should there be any?

Tewksbury, MA 5/30
I show up wanting to play Nathaniel’s Gigas, but there was no Drag Off promo, so nevermind. Then I borrow Thomas’s Torterra for a few games, but I just generally can’t get it to set up. Eventually I decide on Shuppet, since it would be a good choice with all the Jumpluffs. I haven’t really gotten around to messing with the list at all, so the only differences from my article list are Dunsparce, and the removal of Tomb since I can’t stand the thing in there anymore. Instead I have double Mime for more Jumpluff hate. Well, and a Regice. The article list is from awhile back.
At the beginning, I told James M. that he could slap me across the face if he won (he was playing Luxchomp with Claydol, which is a big mistake IMO), so I had to stop it from happening.

Pokémon: 21
2 Shuppet PL
1 Banette PL
4 Unown R LA
4 Uxie LA
4 Crobat G PL
2 Unown Q MD
2 Mr. Mime MT
1 Dunsparce HS
1 Regice LA

Trainers, Supporters, and Stadiums: 36
4 PlusPower
4 Roseanne’s Research
4 Pokédex HANDY910is
4 Poké Drawer +
4 Poké Blower +
4 Super Scoop Up
4 Team Galactic’s Invention G-105 Poké Turn
2 Expert Belt
2 Warp Point
2 Speed Stadium
1 Luxury Ball
1 Great Ball

Energy: 3
3 Psychic Energy

R1 VS New player w/ Lanturn Prime/ Ampharos
I knocked out six Pokémon in six turns. Towards the end he got up a Lanturn, but I Warp Pointed around it.
1-0

R2 VS Michael M. w/ Tyranitar
He was my friend from NJ who had come up for the weekend. Unfortunately, I donked his lone Larvitar. :/
2-0

R3 VS Nathaniel L. w/ Luxpluff
I finally get the matchup I’ve been looking for. T1 Triple Flash Bite Hoppip, he sends up Regice. Warp Point to KO the Baltoy. Next turn I KO Regice. GG.
3-0

R4 VS Kyle W. w/ Jumpluff/ Donphan
This deck surprises me, but if it’s 3-0 it must work. He goes first with a lone Phanpy. Donk. GG
4-0

R5 VS Thomas A. w/ Giratina/ Bronzong/ Cresselia
This deck surprised me. We had been testing on Redshark, and at the time Tom said it was crap, but apparently, he fixed it. I misplayed a Roseanne and he started spreading. I failed to set up and he made short work of me.
4-1

T4 VS Kiko G. w/ Luxchomp
Game 1: I go second against a lone Unown Q. Sorry Kiko. :(
1-0
Game 2: I double Blower a belted Luxray and KO it. It takes him awhile, but he eventually gets up a Luxray X, which I once again OHKO. Then he scoops.
2-0

So I go out for ice cream with Henry and Nathaniel while Thomas and Noah play. I make the mistake of getting a large coffee ice cream. It was MASSIVE. I eat it as quickly as I can, and it still drips all over my hands. Thomas wins the game too quickly, and I still have a cone left. Luckily, we agree to willingly disrupt the event in progress! We go with Thomas as he gets ice cream of his own, then we come back and eat. We, in no rush to begin the match, drink soda and eat ice cream. Then we take lengthy bathroom breaks, taking turns even though there was an unoccupied bathroom while I was using the other. We rules lawyer with the judge about whether deliberately delaying a match (as we were the only two still in the tournament, so they couldn’t go on without us) is against the Spirit of the Game even though neither player feels their their rights were violated. Finally, we deliberately take a long time shuffling. And that, folks, is how to disrupt a sanctioned event!

T2 VS Thomas A. w/ Giratina/ Bronzong/ Cresselia
Game 1: I double Blower and knock out a key Bronzong and he promptly scoops to save time.
1-0
Game 2: We play it out to six prizes. He Judges me, but I get set up again. I KO a Giratina and then a Belted Bronzong with Triple Flash Bite for the tournament.
2-0

Props:

u goin' to RI? i might make an appearance there just for the LULz...and i ain't goin' to nats anymore so i won't even bring my deck that i was going to play, Plox time!!

Thanks guys. Although Luxchomp really isn't a very bad matchup for Shuppet.

really, when i played shuppet my hardest matchup was always luxchomp for some weird reason cuz they always got through my mime wall and then they looker my pretty hand! GJ again.

Nice job on 1st and 2nd! I really liked how you "disrupted a premier event". And that was an excellent metagame choice to play Shuppet- I lost to a Shuppet in the finals of Regionals when I was playing Jumpluff. Keep it up!

Kevin.

A friend pointed this out to me.

Your wit and sense of drama here is comical but let it be very very very clear. You did not disrupt the event. My SON and you were given a little extra time because the freakin place was over 90 degrees. I know there was lite banter with the table judge but not as you described. Because, if you truly were out to screw with an event I am HJ at, you will be talking to me and Mr. Shea about this. Also, I don't like you implicating, even in a "funny" way, my son.

IF you are to respond to this, plz take it to PM which means private message. I ask this of you as a forum Moderator.

Thanks
