Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

British Columbia "March 12, 2011" Provincial Championship (Canada)

Guys.

As much as I don't like to back out of Oregon.

I think I'm coming to this one.

e: That room looks so tiny compared to where we held regionals/states last year in Oregon... that place is huge!

Oregon states is definitely alot bigger than BC provincials. We'll be happy if we get 100 ppl.....total. =p that bein said, Jack P stole the states win (in seniors) in oregon last season so it wont be so easy

i just hope to make a deep run to defend my provincial title

Rules update‏ !!!!

The only part that has changed is the part of section 22.3 regarding how to resolve game 2 in a best of three match.
The section with updated text is below:

GAME 2

If the last turn ends during game 2 and if either player has less than 50% of his or her initial Prize cards remaining (2 in a Constructed format or 1 in a Limited format), the player with the fewest Prize cards remaining wins the game. Otherwise, the game does not count toward determining the winner of the match. The winner of game 1 wins the match.

If both players have the same number of Prize cards remaining, the game continues until one player has fewer Prize cards remaining than the other. The player with the fewest Prize cards left is considered the winner of game 2.

If both players draw their last Prize card (or Knock Out their opponent’s last Pokémon) at the same time, refer to the “What Happens if Both Players Win at the Same Time?” section of the Pokémon TCG rulebook. If necessary, follow the Single Prize Sudden Death rules as outlined in the Pokémon TCG rulebook, including flipping a coin again to see who goes first. The winner of this Single Prize Sudden Death is the winner of game 2.

If this results in one player having won two games in the match, that player wins the match.

If this results in both players having won one game in the match, follow the Single Prize Sudden Death rules as outlined in the Pokémon TCG rulebook, including flipping a coin again to see who goes first. The winner of this Single Prize Sudden Death is the winner of the match.

doesn't this apply aswell if time is called during game 3?

No, game three has allways counted no matter what the prize count was. It was that way last year, it was that way duriing Fall battle roads this year, and it was that way durring Cities this year as well.

The rule change was allways just about game 2. Rules for game 3 were never effected by this ruling.

since we are having the event in a mall, there's a good chance we might not be able to have a vender's table this year. Therefore if anyone need singles for this event, please visit Ted @ Comic Land (Coquitlam Store) ahead of time. You can also check out Mike @ The Connection Games (Cambie Street Store) or Buck @ Craving For A Game (Central City Shopping Centre) for booster packs and other Pokemon TCG products.

This is the hotel info for anyone that wants to come out to the Provincial Tournament. It’s a great deal at a new hotel and easily accessible to the mall. They also have free parking & continental breakfast included. They are offering us the $50 shuttle van service flat rate each way to either the airport or the ferry terminal which includes up to 7 passengers. You need to book directly with the hotel at the number below. Make sure you mention about getting the Pokemon rate:

I can offer your guests a rate of $79 plus tax. Regular rate is $93. We will also have the shuttle available for $50 each way as long as they book in advance.

Good luck with your event!

New Look!... New Experience!... New Hospitality!...

FYI it was Albertain's that won in OR last year ;p

I know that. But I hear you came and stole some CC medals? How does it go, an eye for an arm or something like that?

I wasn't told the transgression, I'm just the messenger boy (read: assassin).
