dschorre,

Congratulations on your new league! While I'm typically very busy with college studies, I am in the neighborhood, so if you need random help, opinions, etc, I'm around. I will find ways to spread the word too, because apparently there is a latent Pokemon community at TAMU, just waiting to be unleashed...And yes, I'm talking about college students. :thumb:

I noticed that too, when I attended Weatherford College! College Students NEED SOMETHING to do...

Any updates? How was the first league?

Well, our first meeting consisted of my self, my daughter, and one of her friends that had never played before. Small crowd, but a lot of fun. The second week (last week) we had 7 new people show up. 2 had a collection of 60 cards that they called decks. One "deck" had three energy cards, 6 basic, 18 level 1 and the rest level 2 and trainers. Luckily I took my and my daughters extra cards and trhough a couple of decks together on the cuff. This week, we are going to focus on putting decks together. I created some flyers and hung up in the library to spread the word a little more. If you would like to print some off and hang up around campus, I would appreciate it. you can find them at

There are a couple to choose from, so take your pick. Anytime you would like to come, we would love to have ya. I am new to Pokemon TCG and am not familiar with all the advanced rules yet, but we get by. If someone has a question about something, I post it here na dcan usually get a response fairly quick. We are trying to get a group together for regionals on April 12th. I know my daughter and I are going. Should be fun.

Take care and God Bless,

Daniel

Austin and I are trying to plan an April 5 visit. So far, the calender is clear.

Let your players know that I'll have Theme Decks to loan out to all players that need them. This will be one event your players don't want to miss.

I'm going to add your league to our PokemonBUZZ list as well.

Good luck.

LOL. I meant, April 5th. So far the calendar is clear, but that's the weekend before Regionals, so I may end up with some last minute things to do.

I've looked at my schedule, and that date we discussed earlier will work for Battle Roads. So, let's keep that date booked. So, let your players know that Battle Roads coming your way! :thumb:

Awesome, that is going to be so exciting. When you come on the 5th, you can see the room. The library is very excited about having some youth activities there again. We look forward to having you down.

Daniel

Please be sure and remind all your league buddies about Regionals. We have plenty of room for everyone.

Thank you.

Now back to your regular scheduled programing.

Hey Team Cook, we sure missed you today. we had a group of 4 college kids, and 13 regulars today. We also had 5 new members today. It was fantastic.

See ya soon,
Daniel

Sorry we couldn't make it. We are soooo busy getting ready for Regionals. I thought for sure I would have time to come out and play but nooooo, work keeps me grounded.

Great to hear the league is doing well. Be sure and have all those players make it to Regionals next week, lol.

Awesome on all the members!! Glad to see Bryan getting a league started, because we sometimes stay down there when going to Houston.

We had plans to come to Regionals next week, but we had three new people sign up about 15 minutes before we left yesterday. I did not want to be down for two weeks in a row when we are doing so well building te league. Secondly, none of the kids are ready for a tournament yet. We are still working on proper play and deck building. Some of these kids are using world championship cards. I am still learning most of the rules. We are wanting to be ready for Battle Roads in June.

I really appreciated the help the college guys gave yesterday. They are good guys. Good luck next week.

Use Regionals as a learning tool. This is the perfect place for you and the kids. I'll give the kids Theme Decks to use AND keep if they don't have the right cards. You'll get so much out of being in a big event like this.

You'll have plenty of time for one on one, playing lessons at league. Regionals is a different experience.

We have so many kids that think Regionals isn't about winning or losing. Regionals is about a fun day of Pokemon. It's not ALL about the tournament.

Congratulations to Angela, Tre, Jason, and Jarod for winning the first badges at the Bryan Pokemon League. Way to go folks.

So, your college boys caught up with me a drilled me about not coming to league. I filled them with some mumbo jumbo about work and when it was all said done, we were seeing who could eat white powered donuts the quickest, lol. Mia fixed them up with a few goodies and they were happy campers, not to say they already weren't happy campers. Oh, and slap Mike for me and remind him to put out his prize cards, lol.
