Can anyone think of a Shiftry Strategy?

I understand using Memory Berry to do it is a strategy but is there any way to improve that strategy? Maybe with Ariados... I also like Shiftrys second attack. Theyre confused >< lol... So they still cant attack you... cuz they flip tails, but they can always just retreat... Is there maybe a card that wont let them retreat thats a body. But they can sit on the becnch... I wish there was because that would make shiftry a little better lol... Any strategies? Cuz I love the card, and it seeems like a cool deck to mess around with =)

Other than ariados you have Dugtrio which hurts the ppl who escape. Also I heard that there is a Vileplume that is coming out soon that cancels trainers from being played, even on the bench. I'll get back with you in a moment.

well, dugtrio will be an option for when everything cycles... Ariados will be gone lol... It would be a good thing for vileplume also... They can retreat and take 20 damage added on to their 40 damage from the first attack. But what sucks about vileplume, is once shiftrys dead, its hard to get another one lol... No rare candies, and its hard to get all 3 of a part with 1 supporter, unless you already have 2 of it... lol

That's why you also run Spiritomb or even better, get an evoluter out before vileplume and then use a roseannes or collector and end by evolvling.

rosseannes wont be out when vileplume is lol... and even then itll still take 2 turns to still get set up... Spiritomb isnt going to help much, unless you strat with it, cuz vileplume does the same thing lol... so Id rather go with the dugtrio idea lol

Cade, shiftry is terrible. If your plannig to run this next season, it will not work. Without Claydol, or roseanne's, you'll get maybe one shiftry up.

I already tested it... its not too good. Ill agree with u lol... It seemed alright, but nah... it wasnt lol... Plus, im surprised ur on lol

If you want a good draw engine. 3-1 Uxie LA. It's not as consitent and reliable as claydol but it's FAST. This is what i do. I usually do 3 sableye but 4 works better. and 1 spiritomb. (all you need is one) You impersonate for a collector and find that one spiritomb, alond with one uxie and one seedot. I used to run RR jirachi to get the same supporter twice for the same purpose of getting ahold ok key cards.

Shiftry can be fast to set up and is a fun deck. But dugtrio is a poor substitute for MT Ariados, seeing as free retreat pokemon prefer to take 4 damage retreating than staying active while you snipe their bench with feint attack.

trying to lose is a very good strategy for shiftry, it will work 99.9%

If you're gunna do the Vileplume combo put in Pokemon Contest Hall. Its flippy but you'll still be able to attach memory berry. And your opponent can't use your stadium.

You just told him a bunch of cards that say "draw" or "search your deck" in their text.

As many have said, Shiftry has awful attacks and a near-useless Body that really only stops people from playing SSU or Reversal on you.

Awesome.

Look at my username. If EVEN I am telling you it sucks, then...you get the point.

Okay, that's what I was looking for. Roserade UL thank you Acmeminer. When that new Vileplume comes out that stops trainers from being played it will be a really good combo in my oppinion. If your opponent can't retreat and is confused, and forced to get tails when attacking, sounds very intimidating. Then Roserade is there so you can confuse on the side and take out the actives powers and body's for the next turn.

Basically forcing bad attacks is a good combo, in my oppinion.

you don't need Roserade if you have Judge + Copycat + Shifty's conform attack.

You can even up hand size almost every turn then attack for auto confuse.

shiftry has good locking ability

1.stopping them to attack when they are confused (if they want to retreat they will take 20 damage from dugtrio)
2.blocking their poke-powers and poke-bodies with seal off
3.almost every thing will get rough on your opponent if they will flip coins because of unlucky wind

note: you can make your opponent always confused with judge, copycat and giratina(let loose)
dugtrio can be a back up attacker

i am making this deck but there is still 4 spaces cards
