Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Can you help me with my first deck?

I've been playing pokemon with mates for a few years in a strange unlimited format we devised ourselves, but now we're looking to go into playing properley.
Problem is, we have mostly fake and out of rotation cards.

I have recently bought some cards, and would like to know what sort of options I have to start a deck with them. I will list the rares, hopefully I can get some input in if they're worth anything at all trade-wise, and if so, what a good direction is to go in (basically what deck can I build with these cards?)

  • Carnivine
  • Serperior (one each ability and bad)
  • Venomoth (holo and non-holo)
  • Scolipede
  • Mew Prime
  • Reshiram FA (and 2 promo)
  • Bronzong
  • Darmanitan
  • Emboar (2 bad, 1 ability. One badboar is RH)
  • Golduck RH
  • Swanna
  • Elekid RH
  • Electivire
  • Zekrom promo
  • Zebtrika
  • Darkrai Cresselia top half
  • Porygon Z rh
  • Dragonite x2
  • Stoutland
  • Ambipom
  • UNfezant RH
  • Sawk
  • Machamp Prime x4 (sent accidentally to me on ebay a few months ago, which is nice)
  • Machamp x2 (the other TM one - the one I ordered off ebay for $1!)

Would love some help here to get me going in the right direction!

I also have a collector, juniper, 5 communications, PONT, couple seekers and twins.

Well you can do a Reshiboar w/o a ninetales as you don't have it. Put 3 REshirams in and all 3 Emboars.
Also, do you have 4 or 3 Volbeat and 3 or 4 Illumise?

Haha yeah got the volbeat/illumise but would rather play something fun rather than a donk deck!

What I'm after here is the sort of cards I should be looking to get to make a deck, and what I can trade off for those cards.
eg. I don't want to trade off my Reshiram FA for stuff to make Megajudge because that would be ridiculous...

You can't really make a competitive deck with those cards. As the above poster said, you can run Reshiram/Emboar but you really need to have 4 Reshiram and at least 2 Emboar with the ability. However, with your limited cardpool that does seem like your best option.

It would help if you listed ALL the trainers and supporters you have as well. You'll need 4 Collectors and 4+ Oak's/Juniper to make a really competitive deck. You'll want to include 4 Communication as well.

EDIT- ninja'd. Your reshiram FA is worth 10 dollars, Magnezone Prime is worth 30 and Yanmega is worth 40-45. How would that be at all ridiculous?

My point with my Magnezone is that I have most of what's needed for Reshiboar - but nothing for Megajudge. So it would be stupid to trade everything off for one card to make a deck... if you get what I'm saying here.

So basically my best option would be to trade Mew Prime and Machamp prime for cards to make reshiboar? (trainers, emboar, ninetails?)

Yeah, that seems like it's the best. Reshiphlosion might be better because Typhlosion is like 8 each and Emboar is around 20 so your 1 emboar should get you 3 Ty

since when is emboar 20 bucks? it's (probably) coming out as a tin promo soon, it's worth pretty much what typhlosion is right now...and typhlosion >>>>>>>>> emboar

So then I'm better off sticking to emboar?

Well, while it does go by preference, the general assumption that the two decks are the same is incorrect.

Reshiboar has several unique techs:
1-1 or 2-2 RDL(Rayquaza-Deoxys Legend, UD)
1 Badboar(does 150 for 4 Energy)
Any Pokemon that have Colorless attacks(Cinccino, Zoroark, etc.)

Where as Reshiphlosion doesn't hold as many options, yet it still the better choice of the two(in my opinion). This is because Reshiphlosion has a 3-3 Ninetales line for draw(generally speakin), where as the traditional Reshiboar does not.

Some general techs for either list are:

2-3 Double Colorless Energy OR 2-3 Rescue Energy
1 Revive(this is if you run a 4 Junk Arm, do not use this tech with any less, believe me).
2 Energy Retrival OR 2 Fisherman(in Reshiboar it is fine to run both lines)

I hope I helped.

I just got a Reuniclus and was wondering if this could be viable with Machamp and be competitive at all...

I'll have a look around for some info on this see if it's been done before!
