Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

cedar Grove GC Report that is less then perfect

I was starting the day in a less then awake mode. 3 hours of sleep in 2 days and im heading to cedar gove with my buddies: ray and steven. We get on the road and i start to tweak my deck. At the end it was ok but it woulden be till 30 minutes before they start the torunmantb that the tweaking ended.
We get to jersey but get lost. We end up going straight and finding out we are still 10 minutes from time warp games. I say to ray: its like you always say"getting lost is half the battle"
We make it after 20 minute of searching and register. We meet: BJJ and his son, greg sauk and his kids, jeffrey mermelstien(sorry if last name is spelled wrong) and shadow zangoose. It was funny to see 30% of NYC's gym challenge flooded in here. I met all the wwe fans that were judging in NYC and even thought i didnet notice him i ran into bolt. I couldent believe how big of an afro he has. We get ready to play and the infamous thing that kills tournmants happens here: Software malfunction. We wait and wiat and as we wait steve and ray get food. I spent my 20 on the dice and bag i needed so i had only dinner money. It takes 1 1/2 hours but we finally start
This is the great deck that went down for a spiralling bomb today:
aqua bombshell

3 carvanah
3 sharpedo holo
2 electrike
2 manectricke holo
2 walrien
3 kyourge
4 dunsparce
Trainers:
3 aqua schemer
3 archie
3 copycat
2 warp point
3 desert shaman
3 poke reversals
3 tv reporters
Energy:
13 water
2 aqua energy
2 double rainbow energy
4 dark energy

I dont many remember names of who i faced, just decks-sorry

Round 1 vs kabutopsm ex/machamp
I started this deck with a disadvantage. This deck was played by my good buddy ray. I had a bad start and he got machoke quickly. I tried to get walkrien but when i did he was already getting machoke #2
up and #1 did the damage that killed me off. By the time i got it down he already had me locked down and i had no way out. A bad start hurt me and he won.
0-1

Round 2 vs bar deck with no raquaza
This deck was played by my buddy steve koshler who was playing nick chimento's bar deck that won the 10- in the NYC gym challenge. I got the good start as much as he did but we both hit the stall point together and were back and forth. I ended up getting the advantage but he got a god pull of a oak research an got his blaze ex up. I was stuck. I had waliern and a poke reversal. If i get it i get blaze ex done and if its tails i say goodbye to my offenseive hitter. I get tails and next turn he takes it out. I get another good advantage and get a blaze out but eventually he would get a 2nd one but run ot of energy in his deck with no firestarted blaze or town volunteer left. I was so focused on his 2 card deck that i dident know his 8 card hand had no energy and his last cared was the resoperch so it buys him 3 more turns. I get walrien but thinking he has energy i keep dunsparce up and paralized him 3 times ina row. i get a tails and he gets a blaze kick. Gets the burn and i survive. If i knew he had no energy i would of walrien till i destroyed him. I lost by one turn thanks t my not looking at his discard. he won with a burn flip thatw as tails.
I lost a hell of a battle and we coudlnet help but saying, best gave we had all day.
0-2

Round 3 vs gorudon/aggron mix
I got up quickly with my pokemon but he had a magma groudon up fast with 3 lairon's up so he had the advantage. I tried to stop it but it slowly chomped away at my bench till i nailed the reversal and got his gorudon ex up for a stall time but he eventually retreated it and finished me off. This game was long but it dident have a nice end. I got 1 prize on him and was embarresed to say i went 0-3 so far

Next round vs walord ex
This goy was called, wrestling dude. We faced off and i dont think he knew how to play wailord ex. he throughout the game tried attacking with 120 and 100 damage on and then when he did do damage he damaged himself and i tried to figure ot why but after a few minutes i gave up on my wondering. I got a slow start but eventuially got his walmer down but he had a second one with the fun of wailord this time. I hit it over and over till he super deep dives. I fight off some big opposition to get 2 prizes. He brings it back with 30 damage on it. I damage it 2 times and he is stuck. He lets it hold but i finally got it to go down for 2 prizes. I cant remember the next pokemon i knocked out but with one prize left he got a 20 damage wailord ex back up and did 80 taking out the might walrien but the sharpedo party was up and did damage over and over till time waa called and i won on prizes. We shook hands 4-5 times saying: "That was one hell of a battle" It was great to face a battle like that.
1-3
Round 5 vs aqua deck similar to mine
This battle dident last long. He got manectrike up fast to take me out and i had no defense. I got 2 of his pkemon down but not before he took the overwelming advantage to win the game quickly. I went 1-4nqnd watched as steve got 3-2 and ray got 2-3

Thanks to facing a guy who got 1-4 steve got 13th with his record. We all left for TGI fridays and were surrounded by beautiful ladies all over the restaurant. Everywhere we looked they were either the waitresses, the customers or just ongoing people. It was like heaven. Even the lady who seated us was HOT. We sit and ray faced steve while we waited for the food. Thanks tonr ay and his TGOi fridays point card we got afree appitizer and steve says" your right, you are the best ray ever" Steve won a good battle and i then faced steve. I get caught ina corner with a dunsparce an the food comes. We eat and steve finishes me off to win again. We pay and i compliment the hostess with a comment on her beauty as we depart. We all get back to NY in one piece. I slept the way there.

Props:
To the tournmant origanizer who went through hell with the software to get that tournmant together
Joe P who was the man by the organizer who helped get the games organized.
The judge lady in orange with long redish hair that was so nice to everyone. (she looked like heidi craig)
Ray and steve for being good sports after the battle i had with them.

No slops to report this time

Darn!! Why didnt I go. lol Too bad your deck pooped out Joe. It did well at League Thursday nite. Thanks for the report. BTW - Frankie R. wont he 15+ with BAR.

The delay was actually in part due to lack of chairs. Apparently some of them broke shortly before the tournament and they had to run out and buy extras. After that, it was the program. Just trying to distribute blame equally. It's an excuse I hadn't heard before. ;)

I'd write a report, but there's little to tell. I went 3-2, making some mistakes in both losses. Swampert pretty much had a chance to win every game and I didn't finish it out. My head wasn't in it at all. *accepts shame*.

The six extra chairs we had to buy didn't delay the tournament more than 10 minutes (I wanted to make sure everyone had a seat). It was the TMS software that really held up the tournament.

The night before the event a new version (1.15) was posted. I thought "Cool, I can use the new software." To make a horrible memory short, I had everyone entered in the new software, but when the pairings were generated, it double and triple paired players (!!!). I decided to quickly uninstall the new version and reinstall 1.14 (which does work). Unfortunately, when TMS is uninstalled, it also deletes the player database (which contains all the birthdates). After the older version was set up, I loaded the pre-reg file and had to re-enter all 67 birthdates (not a simple task).

I do thank everyone for being patient, and I hope everyone had a good time.

BTW: The results and top decks are posted at www.timewarpcomics.com
I will be adding card names to the decks by saturday.

All you do in this situation is right click and copy the player database and put it somewhere else before you uninstall TMS. After you install the new version, copy it back into the TMS file and wallah, all your database are belong to us...er is in the new version.

As a side note, I have used 1.15 and it ran great. Try deleting everything and reinstalling it.

usually, I do backup the database before a new install. Unfortunately I was a little "distracted" by the problem with 1.15 and forgot to back it up.

I reinstalled it once before deciding to go back to 1.14 and still had the problems.

I'm going to reinstall it again and see If I can figure it out (while not under pressure).

I have noticed that when installing TMS, some of the .dll libraries included with it are out-of-date versions.

Other than that, the event seemed to go well.
