Celeni - I have played the deck, Zard NEVER powers himself up unless you have like 25 energy. It is no good and if you flop you lose good cards.

tmanplayer - 28 energy? WTF?! Thats is 12 slots in your deck you are wasting, I liked the list but then the energy way outrageous.

dobsonr - fearow maybe a 1-1. I've used him in Metanite like that and he appears quite frequently. I like the idea though

zard doesn't need 25 energy but it helps. my strategy should clear up things.

first use magcargo to smooth over for whatever you need and get it either through tv or ruins. then mentor for mantine and charmander put them on the bench, hold rayquaza ex. smooth over for an energy with your second cargo. then use up to three mantines netting you four energy on top. rare candy to charizard using its power to charge up someone and then drop ray ex and move energy to him. bench and sweep. if you wish just dont drop ray ex and your zard is powered.

Mantine d - Lightning - HP50
Basic

Poke-Power: Power Circulation
Once during your turn, you may search your discard pile for a Basic Energy card, show
it to your opponent, and put it on top of your deck. If you do, put 1 damage counter
on Mantine. This Power can't be used if Mantine is affected by a Special Condition.

[L] Spiral Drain: 10 damage. Remove 1 damage counter from Mantine.

Weakness: Lightning
Resistance: none
Retreat: 1

He saw Energy-14
+ The others, Total= 28.
All rorrrrrrrr did was mis-read...

I played my version tonight and went 4-0 with complete set-up by t3 everytime, including a T1 metal burn. Celeni, I like your use of Ray EX and Ray*, however mantine is not out yet and won't be for cities if I'm not mistaken. Your strategy also requires you to have 3 mantines on the bench AND the energy in the discard, which may not be as easy to accompish. It would require 2 mentors and another holon supporter to have been put into play, while discarding energy each time you play one. Then, after all this is done everything goes for one or two big shots before your beef cannon gets ko'ed and you repeat the process. I would say that feasably you would be set up turn three just as I have done. This will make ray* amazing, but I doubt Ray EX's viability. I will test your strat for myself before passing any judgement, those are just my initial thoughts on the logistics. Please leave a counter arguement.

Tmanplayer - Mew is right, I say the 14 and read, 28. I am sorry and I deeply apologize I did misread it and should have figured out that there was no way you could fir 28 energy anyways.

Celeni - I like the concept, it is a serious abuse of the power. That setup will be hard to comeby and then easy to disrupt. Any counters to BF, Windstorm, Holon Shrine (comes out w/ your Mantines)?

Can we just confirm that if anything attached to Charizard d CAN provide metal, then it has to be discarded? I can see people arguing the toss on this one, especially when some people still call what their energy is providing when they play it (I think you had to do this long long ago).

you can also play sealeo from legend maker before mantine comes out. for discarding tv, holon ruins, mentor and a well place retreat ( only if needed) was enough but you can take out a few celios for researchers to further help. also feel free to remove the brineys or lower the zard line for more windstorms and possibly another gym.
as far as things go having all of my mantines out is usually a god play and have usually gotten by with less. if anything the ray exs can be lowered to tech line for more room. i play three so i am not too dependent on mentor being its usually a tight grab of pokemon.

I see two distinct version of the deck as we stand now. Time will tell which is more dominant in the metagame, if either, who knows.

It's the same as any card with similar wording in the attack.

That's like asking for confirmation that Dragonite d follows the same rulings as Firestarter Blaziken...

i believe its possible that there is a third version combining both ideas.

dobsonr- look below
rroaryh-look below
