Flip 2 coins, for each tails discard 2 fire energies, it all are tails discard all fire energies

Whenever an attack does anything to haunter, flip a coin, if heads prevent all effects of that attack including damaged done to haunter
when charizard attacks and flips 2 coins, say i get 2 tails, all energies is discarded from charizard but i fail to attack because i flip a head for haunter's transparency, so whats happens, do i discard the energies or the attack is negated?
