Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

cheap (<$20) eats on the big island...

Nice. Thats one thing I heard is that the food is really expensive. So this will be very helpful thank you.

food is only expensive when you live there for regular grocery shopping. otherwise its fairly decent. and its not bogus expensive, just a bit higher than average.

i know because my family was stationed (dad in the army) in hawaii for a while.

No mention of the Costco famous $1.50 hot dog and soda?! I'm shocked and horrified. There is a Costco on the Big Island in Kona, and it's worth the trip to pick up soda, water and snack-y foods so you aren't paying a premium on them at the resort.

:thumb: And yes, I AM a Costco employee.

i'd love to go to costco to stock up, if i'd had a car available :)

there was a small grocery/convenience store in the shopping center near the resort; there was a free tram to/from it available. though the prices weren't *great*, they were still MUCH better than the sundries/snack stores at the hilton...

Flight to Hawaii - $800
3-night stay in Hawaii - $900
Food to eat while in Hawaii - $200
Taking the trip to Hawaii to play at worlds - Pricel----TOO EXPENSIVE

Just down the road from the resort, near the costco, there was the coolest food "barn" or "mall" which had about every food imaginable at pretty good prices. We are going to hit there a few times during our stay.

Defintely a locals place, but the locals were really fun to be around. Especially when they pressured us to try the "bean snow cones". Were really good.

Depending on how things turn out, I may be able to have my contacts on The Big Island assist the Pokemon community in obtaining some items from Costco and other areas. Being a local (though on a different island) has its advantages ;)

About half a mile, from the resort there was a subway. A $5 footlong is $5, even in hawaii.

And if you took the train to the far right side of the resort there was a prime rib and sea food buffet for around $29.

Actually, its more like $6 +tax :(

$7 in some places.

Only a few do $5 , but they still add tax.
