Chicagoland City Championship Marathon
These events are open to all players. We are using the Swiss pairing format, so you can play through each round and never be eliminated until the swiss rounds are over. City Championships are a great place to test your new deck strategies and bring your play skills to the next level! The top players of the City Championship are awarded prizes for the skills needed to do well in such a large event.
When preparing for a City Championship Tournament make sure you have a Deck that is ready to play in a competitive sanctioned tournament. To do this first check that your Deck complies with the current Tournament Format. After checking your cards are legal for play, you will then need to fill out a DECKLIST!
If you are using sleeves be sure they are all the same color and size. Damaged sleeves will NOT be allowed for this event. Shiny backs or printed backed sleeves will also not be allowed.
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, Leave yourself at least an additional 10 minutes every weekday morning to accommodate for Chicago area traffic. If it says, on google maps, you will be there in 20 minutes, you need to leave at least 30 minutes early!!! Do not be late, if you don’t want a round 1 loss.
Hotel Accommodations
The William Tell Holiday Inn has set aside a block of rooms for this event. This hotel is about 30 minutes (no traffic of course) away from nearly all locations. This is an AWESOME place to stay for a nice get away. It has an amazing pool and many things for the kiddies to do. The Holiday Inn has also lowered the price of a room for that entire week from Saturday, 12-27-14 through Friday, 1-2-15, if you book by 12-1-2014 (Use Code PKM when calling). New Years Eve
The William Tell Holiday Inn has a bowling alley within a 3 minute walk from the hotel. Rolling lanes bowling center has been the place my family and I have attended in years past, to celebrate the ringing in of the New Year. They offer a single lane deal for up to 5 people with shoes, for $65.00. This comes with 2 hours of bowling, a large pizza delivered to the lane and a pitcher of pop. If you plan on staying in town for New Years eve and are looking for a family friendly place to go, give them a call to reserve your lane before they fill up. Reservations will be taken AFTER November 1st.

RETRO DECK TOURNAMENT!!!
We will be hosting 8 man pods for every year between 2003 and 2012. Each event will be $5 to enter. With store credit prizing $20 to 1st, $10 to 2nd, $5 to 3rd and 4th. These events will be firing off all day as we get 8 players to sign up. If you do not have a deck, NO WORRIES, Jimmy will allow you to use decks from his RETRO DECK EXPRESS!!!

TOURNAMENT FORMAT
Standard Constructed Swiss rounds, as well as top cut rounds.

TOURNAMENT STRUCTURE
Standard Swiss 30 minutes plus 3 turns, with a cut to the top 8 players to play 50 minute plus 3 turns. The number of rounds will be based on number of players in the event.
The main tournament will last 8 to 10 hours depending on age group.
Three Age Divisions:
>> Juniors (born in 2004 or later)
>> Seniors (born in 2000, 2001, or 2002, 2003)
>> Masters (born in 1999 or earlier)
ENTRY FEE
FREE!!! for players in the Juniors and Seniors division
$10.00 for players in the Masters division (15+)
Players will be entered into random door prize raffles just for signing up!
DECK REGISTRATION:
Every player must provide us with a legible copy of their deck list PRIOR to the close of registration. Anyone failing to turn a deck list on time will be considered late and the proper penalty will be assessed.
PRIZES - Juniors/Seniors
Prizes will be awarded to the top 4 finishers in each age division.

Additionally, there will be a promo card for everyone who attends (while supplies last) and several random door prizes at each tournament.

TRADING
While trading is fine, please note that buying or selling cards to anyone, except for the authorized dealer(s), or soliciting to do so elsewhere, is strictly forbidden at these events. Failure to obey this rule WILL result in both the buyer and the seller being removed from the event, and banned from attending future events.
Top Cut Comics also reserves the right to limit the amount of space being occupied by any one individual while trading, and does not allow the use of suitcases, handcarts, luggage carts, etc. to be used for the purpose of transporting excessive amounts of trade stock. We need to be considerate of all those around us.
