i know people with the time and money will go to 14+ city championships. i only have time to go to 6. therefore should i not bother going? someone going to only 6 CCs has no chance in the rankings versus people who went to 14, right? should i only try to get a worlds invite via nationals?

If you do well at cities it will matter. I also think that you should go. The game is suppose to be fun. By not going because you don't think your can get an invite you sacrafice the fun you would of had if you had gone. I would go and have fun and worry about ratings later when States and Regionals come up.

If I'm not mistaken... Your ranking IF YOU LOSE at 14 cities will be lower than if you won at 2 cities...

So... you go to what you can and win.. ratings take care of themselves...

90% of the people in the Top 40 prior to States last year didn't even get an invite anyways. Cities will help but they are far from everything.

yea. regionals and nationals are worth less.

"If I'm not mistaken... Your ranking IF YOU LOSE at 14 cities will be lower than if you won at 2 cities..."

well yea but generally as long as you win more games than you lose your rating will rise. someone 60-30 will be ranked higher than someone who is 25-5, unless the people you lose to have 1400 ratings.

winning 2 cities is the same as winning a reigonals.

People's ratings are a lot higher at Regionals than Cities. It means A WHOLE LOT more to win Regionals than it does two cities. Give me a break. Cities were also 16K last season.....The people who do well in the big events are always the ones who get invited. You can't win a few Cities and then lay an egg at one of the big events. That's my point.

14+ CC's??? Come on some of us would be lucky to go to 5! 6 IS a lot and very few people will go to 15cities dude. Just go to what you can, play your best, and HAVE FUN! That's what the game is all about. True, cities mean a heck of a lot this year, but just do what you can and have fun doin it. That's my advice.

i stopped having fun years ago. oh well. these are the types of responses i was expecting to get. guess im screwed haha. this can be closed

I wouldn't be surprised to see Ness at two CCs every weekend that CCs are happening. Possibly three, if there are three on a weekend. Over 7 weekends, that's 14 CCs. I'll probably be hitting at least 8 (Judging at least 1-3) over the course of that.

That reminds me. Gotta go ask some questions. ttyl.

Just do well.

My son went to 2 Battle Roads and is in the T50 of Seniors, well ahead of a lot of players who went to 6-10 Battle Roads.

Keep the faith.

Every point counts, and it has already been said, these big events are FUN! It's also important to support the
tournaments that are close to you. Cause if you can go to 6 locations, and choose not to go, and those locations
get a bad turnout, they may not hold them there again. Then next time around, you might not be able to attend
as many. But the more you go, the bigger the community around you grows.

Good luck!
