Well, my son won 10 City Championships, yes 10 not 1 or 2 or 3....10! And the newspapers and television stations are waiting for us to get the medals!!
My son worked very hard, as I am sure every player has....I have spent a ton of money traveling on cards, hotel, food and gas.....just want the medals promised by Pokemon 'before' States. I am sure I'm not the only one wondering what could possibly be taking this long.
Who "promised" them to you before States?? The PTO running the event? Unless you got word from PUI brass (read Mike, Pete and Dave) on the anticipated date of delivery, take the rest with a grain of salt. PUI will not use subpar products as their prizes. The original medals were of poor quality. They rejected them and demanded a remake. Once the company gets them made to PUI's satisfaction, then you will get them. As long as your PTO did their job by sending in contact info (addys, etc), then you will get yours when they are ready.
Really folks, as Ryan stated, the medal is to recognize the past achievement. You still WON and everyone that was there knows that already.
Really, what is your kid gonna do with 10 medals? Go as Mr T to States?? As a HJ for multiple States and Nats last year in the JR division, I would not allow a player to wear 10 medals to the table to play their matches. That would be a form of intimidation, IMO. You want to wear them when you show up, or during breaks...OK. Just not to the tables. EDIT: Wear one to the table.....thats good with me.

PS Of course, wearing all those medals can be a form of bragging too. My son faced a player this year that "bragged" his deck was 62-3 in santioned play (up to that time). Made my son even hungrier to beat it, which he did 2 days in a row!
