Hi,

Does anyone know if there will in fact be another City Tournament in the So Cal area this weekend (1/8/11)? I had heard there was a possibility of one, but I haven't heard a confirmation. There is nothing posted on POP, site by pokedad (thank you!) or on pte games for So Cal that weekend. I only know of one in No Cal in Roseville. Any info is most appreciated!! Thanks!!

Leo Orta has told us he would one in alhambra but still waiting for him to put on the site. don't know if he will or not

There will be no tournament in socal on the 8th.

Thanks for the info!! I'm sorry to hear that there won't be on in So Cal this weekend!

Thanks...that's what I had heard as well....Unfortunately there won't be one as Gabriel just added to this thread.

That is sad, Washington has 4 tournaments this weeknd all over the state, and Claifornia only has 1?

we know how sad it is. we have the card shops but for some reason there not holding tourneys there

Well you have to be an established TO in order to be able to run a City Championships anyone over 18 can become a TO and if you do a good job running local fun tournaments after a year you can apply to run Permier events. It helps if you run a legue as well.

ya javva why dont u set up one. how about at palmdale. oh wait your in ohio. cmon people lets try to get someone else to help us get a tourney.

that aint gonna happen. lazy judges

Just to point out, the Judges have nothing to do with the sanctioning of events.

First, your local TO's have to have enough City events allotted to them. These are divided up by TPCi all across the country.

Second, there has to be a venue that is available.

After those two small conditions are met, then the TO will contact their Judges and other Staff to get the event ran.

Really, the Judges are the last link in the chain.

So you might want to rethink your statement...

okay so in the end we all want a city in socal on the 1/8 weekend. but that just isnt gonna happen

Not at this point. If for no other reason than applications for events had to be in before mid November.

Maybe next year though. If there is enough of a player base, it may happen.

My suggestion, get with your local TO's and talk with them about dates and events. Be tactful, don't display the attitude a few posts up. You never know can happen.
