Codes saying they have already been used

Hello PokeGym,
I am very new to the game, and to PokeGym, so I apologize in advance if this is in the wrong category. I recently bought my very first booster box, which was XY Flashfire, from a vendor on eBay. When I tried to redeem the codes included with the booster packs, the majority of the codes showed as already having been redeemed. I know that nobody else could have seen the codes, as they came directly from sealed packs. This upset me, as my location makes it so that I can only really play online. I contacted both the vendor and Pokemon about the problem. Pokemon just dismissed my claim entirely without even providing any sort of response, and the vendor gave me the number of Nintendo, saying they were the ones who could fix the problem. Upon calling Nintendo, I was informed that they could do nothing about it. However, the representative I spoke to mentioned that the vendor may have tampered with the box.

My question is could the vendor have done anything to mess with the codes? If not, is there any way I can get what I payed for?

I think that unless the vendor does comes forward with a way to provide new codes, it looks like the packs have been tempered with. While it's unlikely, it's possible. You'll probably have to request a refund to the vendor if the codes are not valid.

Was the booster box sealed? If so, did it have the pokéball on it? those are 2 (first) things to check out to see if those are genuine cards. Did you get a few EX out of the booster box at least? if it has been tempered with, you probably have very little in high-value cards.

good luck!

This is the sellers responsibility. It is silly to think Nintendo or Pokemon redeemed your codes. Obviously the vendor did something.

Contact the seller on ebay again and demand either a refund or working cards to replace the ones already redeemed.

If he refuses, then contact ebay. They have a money back guarantee, so they should be able to help

There has been a (in my eyes) a glitch in which you can only enter 10 codes at a time and redeem them all at once. If you enter >10 the additional codes give you some message like "sorry that code was already redeemed", which confused the heck out of me. Try reentering the codes 10 at a time and they should work. If they don't, then contact the seller. I was about to contact a seller last time until I read about the above somewhere else.

Obviously PTCGO should make it clear you can only do 10 at a time, but at this time it is not clear.

Yes, this is probably what has happened!
