Coming back to the game

I'm not sure where this post would go but would gladly put it where it needs to be but I'm coming back from a hiatus. I've bought a few things from time to time since before XY came out and barely have anything after Next Destinies (in which I have a ton of) and am curious if it's better to just get rid of my collecion and start over with current format and if so what cards such as trainers should I keep going forward since its BW-current.

Will take all advice as I've been out of the game for some time. Also if moderators can move this to whatever board it's supposed to be in that would be great! Thanks!

Hey, I just got back in somewhat recently as well! Unfortunately, I would suggest "starting over". The standard formats only allow for the newer sets to be used which you may not have much of. Just search currently playable sets to be sure you dont have anything from them. The new pack Phantom Forces was just released so its a great time to get back in. Good luck!
