My main issue with miloric is the 30 hp basic. Some pople think that Milotic is horrible attacker. I don't but I guess due to the fact that I like to play basics or 1 stage rogue decks makes me like milotic. It crushes these decks. Plus the healing and 100 HP basic? And a OHKO of blaze ex? Sure it takes 4 to do 80 but it does have a 2 nrg attack. Not so bad in my mind.

Basically, the big question now is either:
Ninetales ex
Milotic

Each have their pros and cons. Ninetales fits the theme of the deck with GOW advantage early, and provides HUGE damage potential every turn. Yet, it gives up two prizes, is weak to Blasty and takes 4 turns to power. Milotic has healing, works well with the Briney's I already play, does nice damage, counters Blaziken, but it too, takes 4 turns to power unless I DRE, and Feebas is a worse basic than Vulpix. I think this decision is going to depend mainly on metagame. Metagame right now would suggest Milotic, but personally, I think Ninetales is better.

Only testing will tell.

Dave, as far as Cloyster goes, yeah, I thought about that too. Double Bubble is REALLY annoying. I think all in all, Ninetales or Milotic would be the better choice. Also, as far as Steven goes, I find myself using 2-3 per game EVERY game. So, I mean, even if I only use 3, I'd rather have 4 in there so I can draw it with higher percentage, and using one, means I can VS Seeker for it. I don't intend to use them all, but I have better percentages of being able to play them if I need to.

EDIT: Also, YoungJohn has posted a Salamence/Poliwrath deck as well, I encourage anyone checking this post out, to look over his too, because I like the idea myself. EDIT

I like it Jim. My daughter is rebuilding her Walrein deck and is trying to decide on a 2nd hitter. She's going through the same steps that you are and looking at many of the same Pokemon. (There is just no clear-cut GREAT Stage 1. A lot of decent ones and probably something that we haven't realized the potential of yet, but nothing rising to the top right now. I was pushing Electrode EX to take advantage of Walrein's ability to get energy into play, but she's not so keen on it.)

i've always liked salamence's dragon wind and hp, as well as double resistance.....
yet it's attack ability has always been weak....

with the fr/lg i revisited salamence and saw it with a primeape combo....

the ape's low kick attack of 40 for 2nrg (and free retreat) made it a
wicked early turn attacker....especially with dragonwind.....
zangoose, ton, kitty, manectric, sparce and other fighting weak pokies
have nowhere to hide.....

the deck would have to be very fast because it still lacks a big hitter....
but against many decks there wouldn't be a late game to worry about....

I agree with ez1. For this deck to be effective it has to be fast. In the testing we have done with this list it has not been able to keep up with the speed of some of the new breed of speed decks in this format.

Well i think for that deck Dave that Gorebyss with Huntail tech is good. I tried Gorbyss/Walrein/Chimecho and it was very fast.
But anyway i think that gorebyss is good in this deck and Huntail tech for TM decks.

Upon further testing of this magnificent concept, and my recent history of using Poliwrath, I have tested a deck similar to the one YJ posted. I have utilized a deck based on the last two ideas, I've posted. Them being:

1. Confusing Wrath (Spiral and InstaConfusion)
2. Control (Bench Manipulation/Free Retreat)

So, I've placed both of these themes into one deck, and changed it into...

R/S Modified

Pokemon: 24
4 Dunsparce (Sandstorm)
3 Bagon (Paralyzing Gaze)
2 Shelgon (Scrunch)
3 Salamence (Dragon Wind)
3 Poliwag (FR/LG)
2 Poliwhirl (FR/LG)
3 Poliwrath (FR/LG)
2 Doduo (FR/LG)
2 Dodrio (FR/LG)

Energy: 16
8 Water
5 Fire
3 Double Rainbow

Trainers: 20
4 Steven's Advice
4 Rare Candy
3 Celio's Network
3 VS Seeker
2 Switch
2 Desert Ruins
1 Professor Oak's Research
1 Ancient Tomb

Strategy: Well, the deck is three parts that flows together in synergy. Individually they are:
1. Poliwrath (InstaConfuser, ex Punisher)
2. Salamence (InstaGOWer)
3. Dodrio (Free Retreat)

So, obviously, as I've stated in the past, the deck goes like this:

Salamence Gusts whatever you want when it's Active, Dodrio gives Salamence free retreat, retreat for Poliwrath, Confuse them, trapping them. Rinse and repeat. This deck basically decimates Blaziken and does well in basically any other matchup. There is no clear cut deck that will always beat this deck as of yet, to my knowledge. Early game go for the Salamence and punish their Basics, and underevos.

Basically, the configuration of the evolutions is pretty consistant, actually. 3/2/3 on each of the main lines and a 2/2 Dodrio with 4 Dunsparce and 4 Rare Candy works very nice. The energy is very nice. DRE is nice for surprising as well as re-gaining that "turn behind" factor that people worry about by using Sparce. My Trainers are pretty typical. I use Switch so I can retreat twice in one turn.

Yeah, that's basically it. For matchups look at YJ's post, as I agree with him except everything but Gengar taking 60 XD
