There are Soooo many thing to play with the new Cradilly, so I thought it would be cool to share your favorites!

What would be an ideal starter here though? Lileep isn't a basic, and neither are any of the things you'd be getting with Cradily, so what kind of Pokemon would be best to use to open? My first few thoughts are either Emolga or Victini EX, but they both have relatively low HP.

I think Tornadus-EX (Plasma Freeze 98) would be a great starter here. He's almost undonkable, and the hand refresh draw attack could help you get setup if you top-deck something awful. If you want to maximize bench space once you have Cradily out you could run Scoop Up Cyclone. (If you don't mind giving up other potentially useful ace specs for that.)

Well i think garchomp is the best card to choose. It takes one energy to attack with garchomp but the problem is that l f w s and craydiliy works with p d g f energy

and there is the rub. Cradilly's life explosion attack should have cost colorless energy but with needing a grass to attack with and the ruling that the stage 2's on the bench will still be treated as an evolution card (which means that prisim energy and eviolite will not work on them, it really leaves us stuck with only the Stage 2's that will work with the Blend GPDR energy. Greatly limiting the effectiveness of the card. Was super excited about the Cradilly until I realized, now I don't see much of a point to it.

A deck built around Cradily must:
  • Have the value of being able to set up stage 2s with Lifesplosion be much greater than the amount of effort used to set up Cradily.
  • Set up and attack consistently.
  • Choose a really good set of basics to always start with.
If Cradily is to succeed competitively, it also has to be able to defeat metagame decks.

Noticed you only need one grass energy to Lifesplosion. Cradily counts only energy for the attack, so once you have the first grass you can give them whatever you want. Makes that cost easier.
