A lot of the folks not posting in this thread (and a few that are) are missing the limitations on lettering, non-pokemon related stuff & pictures of people. Going to be too bad on 8/1 when it is reviewed... as there won't be a custom day for a few months & there will be no appeals.

Overall, I like so many of the ones I see in this thread... creative & good looking. Keep it up!

Can a Mod tell me if mine is okay with the text? I made sure its very easy to read and doesn't distract form the forum. I really like my avatar as it is right now so please say its okay. :)
 
So do you enter the contest, or do mods just have to happen to stumble across it and choose it?

And who decides the winner?

Remember, avatars must be clearly Pokemon related, avatars must be 80x80 or smaller, photographic images of people will generally not be allowed, and lettering will generally not be allowed. Avatars should not be tasteless or distracting.

Lettering may be permitted in the case of your screen name, but you are advised to play it safe and leave the text in your signature.

Avatars will not be grandfathered in, so if you have an existing custom avatar in violation of the new rules, back it up and change it.

I figure we'll tally votes 8/3-4 and announce 8/5. I'll try to cut the contest off around 8:30-10 tomorrow (PDT) and spend the next couple days deleting the dozens and dozens of old (and new) non-compliant Avatars.

Is that a picture of a person? Are pictures of people permitted? Just read the FAQ and you can know the answer to your question.

I think we all know the news now... this has become 'is my AV ok'. You don't need to ask that question, just see posts 1 & 2.
