Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Dark Deck Help

I have to say I really dont agree. Sure, Ill put in my 4 junipers, random recievers and maybe and N or two, but PONT in this deck is a bit eccesive. Plus I dont even have any and Im not gonna buy.

Think of it like this: You have a 46 card deck to start (after your hand, prize cards, and first draw). Your hand doesnt look great? Do you need a deck stacked with junipers AND oaks AND Ns? No! Your hand probably isnt bad, it just lacks a certain component that you need (ie Pokemon or energies). Thats why you have energy supporters and stuff like ultra ball, to get what you NEED and not just a new hand

Well you obviously haven't tested your deck enough...

EVERY deck in this format needs a consistent draw engine. The current format is about speed, and your aim is to get a quicker set-up than your opponent. Go check out decklists of top tier decks and you'll see at least 3 PONT, 3 Juniper, 2 N and 2 Receiver in each deck (with the exception of Klinklang which runs very little Junipers). PONT and Juniper are the best draw supporters in the format and there is no reason to not run them.

There is no room for searching supporters in the format (other than Pokemon Collector, which is also dying out anyway). People have started to replace Pokemon Collector with Dual Balls / Level Balls / Ultra Balls just so that they have a chance to use a draw supporter every turn. This is really hard to put into words, all I can say is just test out a draw engine which I suggested and if you still face problems, you're not playing correctly.

I'll be happy to help you with your decklist (I'm sure others would too). Just put up your full decklist here or in the Deck Help section and it'll be easier for us to give advice.

I have a good reason to not run pont. I dont have it! I deffintly think my deck would be better with it, but I simply don't believe its impossible to create an efficient deck without a cookie cutter draw engine. Plus, you might have the format all figured out for now, but theres gonna be a brand new format no later than august. Then you'll see. You'll all see.....

Ha cheren. Nope. But three others I dont doubt. But I refuse to scour the internet looking for what "i need" in my deck. I think ill always make my own decks, because I can't bring myself to copy and paste a decklist from online. But oh well I know I don't stand a chance because thats what 70% of players do already.

If you're not joining Nationals or Worlds, then don't buy any cards before Black & White. Just wait for the rotation and start from there. But right now, if you're looking to play your Dark deck in HGSS-on, try printing proxies of the cards you don't have, for testing purposes.

I'm not sure if you realize this; but we have tournament reports and deck lists from BLW-on already.

Japan is playing in that format.

So we aren't guessing that BLW-on decks will be running that supporter setup. We KNOW they will.

Do not confuse laziness or stubbornness with originality.

I'm certainly not. Heck, if someone does research and puts in time to build a deck, I wouldnt call that lazy. What you do is you come up with some ideas and you build from that. READ your cards, come up with strategies. Ask for 2nd opinions and advice. Look into cards you dont have and consider pursuing those in trades. This isnt lazy, but is in fact fun and difficult, and uses innovative thinking.

But Im not talking about that person. Im talking about the one who searches "Best decks in the format" and click the most legit link. I have to say, I really hate that. And yes If your recreating a Nationals or Worlds deck your lazy and boring.

Stubborn is what Im being.

Originality is a word you might've confused with another due to its context in your quote. Originality would be making your own deck, not using somebody else's. I really apreciate advice on individual cards, but Im not going to agree with any suggestions involving a "mandatory" set of cards, because I can do fine with out them.
