Desert Ruins

Effect: At any time between turns, each player puts 1 damage counter on his or her Pokemon-ex with maximum HP of at least 100.


So, if I have a Mewtwo EX (100HP) with 10 damage on it, does Desert Ruins still place counters?

I can see it going either way, but the fairest would be after the EX pokemon drops below 100 it doesn't apply anymore.

Q. If I have a Mewtwo-EX with 10 damage on it (90 HP remaining), does it continue to receive damage counters while Desert Ruins is in play?
A. Yes, it does. Desert Ruins looks for the amount of HP written on the card, not the amount of HP remaining. (Jun 17, 2004 PUI Rules Team)
