Hmmm....very interesting. I saw about all the new pokemon...Im surprised they are only revealing 50 of them though. I know Japan was released 100 new ones.
 
when i first heard of this today i was all egh but after seeing the card scans i cant wait!!!! It will really make things a lot more fun!!!

Um... the flavour text looks really weird (but in a very cool kinda way). Though what's up with energy symbols in main text having changed? (see Electivire to see what I mean). That's a change to the Japanese system I didn't want to see. Also the main text font looks really weird when it's all so small.

Overall, I really like the changes on the cards. For some reason, the English cards look a lot nicer than the Japanese ones, but this might just be my imagination.

i wish the tenth card is uncommon instead of the LAMEly basic energy.....

No trainer card first turn??? [edit] can a casty do on first turn then???

This certainly gets me excited, one thing i'm curious about is the effect of diamond & pearl on the ex sets..does this mean the end of the ex-series entirely? (not that i mind personally, i'm just curious)
 
I love the new cards look! BUT I want to say WHY is everyone getting mad at the NEW rules...HAVE we gotten OFFICAL new rules yet? The answer is NO...Have we always gone with Japan's formate NO...They are FR/LG-ON we are DX-ON they have 30 card tourney's we don't. We didn't use all there rules right away in the past. I'm sure we'll do the W/R one cus that's printed on the card. But we might wait off on the Fossil one due to the fact that we won't have many Fossils and the old Fossils can't be played due to the fact that they say NO Prize. I say probally they will wait till Mystery Lake to roll out the Fossil Rule. IMO We'll see we don't know the new rules so stop complaining about something we DON'T know 100% yet. *done ranting*

Yes I cannot wait myself. I read somewhere before can't remember now but the older sets and ex Pokemon will eventually phase out but in the meantime I would think that Nintendo will let us play the old cards as written and use the new cards as written. This will make for a very interesting game play when DP comes out. I actually like the challenge right before Nats.

Also how do we know that there will still be pre-releases? Without pre-releases that will force us to buy more booster packs/boxes as a marketing ploy. Just up for discussion anyways. I do like the pre-releases though.

????? You know you can't Mentor going 1st Turn 1, right? What part of this doesn't make sense?

The player going first can't play any Trainer Cards (Trainers, Supporters, or Stadiums) on their initial turn.

......

If anything, I love it. No more RC/donkey 1st turn KOs.
 
Wow, the new cards look amazing in English, I can't wait. ^^

But yeah, there isn't a reason to start going psycho about the new rules. (even though a majority of you aren't.) We haven't adopted all of Japan's rules right away (see many of the rule changes before Worlds every year), and it's possible they will do the same with the Trainer/Fossil rule, only time will tell.

Untill then, I can't wait for May, these are looking great!
 
There probably won't be steps to phasing EX cards out until there has been a good number of
4th gen sets that are available...I'm guessing once we see 3 sets out from the D/P generation we should see EX sets going away. For right now, I can see that POP will be letting us integrate these new cards with our EX ones. I love to figure out ways to put these cards together, they look really nice....I love that Infernape, fire pkmn rule!!

From what I heard that they have different card backs and werent meant to be played with the ex series pokemon anyways. Hopefully this isnt valid and isnt true but if it isnt true I think you'd be incorrect. You can use the older fossil even though it says do not take a prize when it gets knocked out as long as you have a translation. From my understanding. I may be wrong about this but im pretty sure im accurate.

The new rules and new cards are awesome =) makes it remind me of back in the day with WOTC "tear" back when the pokemon actually mattered.

After all this game isnt called trainermon it's called pokemon everyone thats been complaining should quit or adapt that simple get over it =)
