Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Diamond & Pearl Confirmed as Next US Set

Eh? You mean I can play trainers on my first turn now? Everyone keeps telling me that I can't play ANY trainers already, so I don't see what the deal is...

You do realize that if there were any truth at all to that statement, that you wouldn't be able to post foolishness like this?

Is nobody above blatant name calling today? With stuff like this getting slung around, maybe you're right, at this rate, i'd beleive I can say anything to anybody. However, being the adult in the matter, i'm not very interested in slinging anything, mud or no. I firmly am unconvinced by what you've said, as i've seen very much evidence otherwise. Lesser statements have gotten me in trouble, and considering i'm not blatantly insulting people, i'm fairly impressed with how easily I get in trouble for simple little things.

Of course, all this name-calling and such is terribly off topic, so i'll end this here.

BACK ON TOPIC

The question of the day is will these be part of BR/Nats/Worlds as well as the rules modifications?

Any insight from PUI would enable further meaningful discussion.

While it's been said before, that Infernape card is absolutly disgusting. I don't think I'd even use Blaziken PK for it, it should be just fine with stuff like Double Rainbow, Scramble, RC and can even run Cessasion/Cursed Stone, ect. Free retreat and I can basically run it with whatever support I want. Crazy...

I would actually think that a rule change like this, and a new card set like this, would possibly make for the most revolutionary Worlds ever if it was allowed. I find it hard to believe that any qualified Worlds player is going to be seriously offset by these mostly minor and simple rule changes (main big things I see is no first turn candies/transievers and prizes from fossils), but it might just end up being one big testing ground (not necessarily a bad thing, most of these cards aren't good enough to actually go toe to toe with current archetypes). Why is there whining again? I don't understand this too well. The one legit complaint I see is the possibility of a lot of non-US and non-JP players not having access to these cards if they weren't released in their respective countries in time, but if that is the case, I don't see them allowing the set.

You can't play supporters on your first turn. You can play a regular trainer, tool, or machine on your first turn but not a supporter. If your the player that goes second you can play any trainer down. (As long as you obey the supporter rule). The new rule is that, you can't play any trainers down during your first turn (Even if you do go second). I think.

I like the new set but thing is i hated how they completly under did the lucario. I expected a big move for him and now they did a crappy job but that big firepae is sick. I can see one pokemon who will be happy to see him come nats.

The price increase is nothing to New Yorkers. All over this state ive found packs in the Targets and Walmarts go up to 3.99 since the power keepers set was released. I am happy the set is going to be 3.79 a pack. Maybe it will make the New York market drop the price a little. I miss the days of 3.29 and 3.49 a pack. Now i have to go to mass tournaments to find 3.29 a pack ><

I cant wait to see how the new rules will affect play at nats and if they will be enforced at nats.

The price rise is because of that extra 1 card in the pack (which is most likely an energy). The reason they're putting energies in this set is because it's a new generation of pokemon and because Metal and Darkness energies are basic now.

Personally, I don't mind the "average" cards, but I really hate how they look. I really, really, don't like the new card design. But this is coming from someone in the graphics field, which notices every little change and has to critique it. I would have liked it alittle more if they kept the highlighted patch around the attacks, but with the loss of it....arg!

Can't wait to play them though...ugly pokes...

A decision needs to be made soon about the legality of DP at Worlds. I would much rather spend on airfare and hotel then my cases of Pokemon Boosters. lol

If it is the same street legal date then yes DP will be legal for both US Nats and Worlds.

It is known that it will be legal for Worlds.
The European invite-winners are going to get some DP packs to play test with before they go to Worlds.

Theres 2 questions now that people should be asking.

1) Will the new rule changes be legal for worlds and what not

2) What the next modified format is. Is it gonna be like they have been doing rotating out the oldest 3 sets or will it be D/P forward since it's supposed to be a new game. Not just expansion much like the EX series.

Those are the questions and i'm much more concerned about the latter for number 2 =) Kiara wants D/P forward would make more sense ^__^

DP-on would just be wierd. PK in the format for 6 months? I don't think so. My best guess would be either DS-on or HP-on with the Holon trainers being POP promos.

Phew, this wont affect Norwegian nationals...

But this set looks cool, and the new rules aren't that bad...

That ape really isn't going to be that good with no d pokemon. A lot of things can do 90, Banette can do 90 for 2, does it break the format? No.
