Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Diamond & Pearl TCG information

Well, if it was a different color in the morning than it was when I went to sleep...

I agree, but following that logic, then people should only freak out about DP rule changes if the changes were implemented suddenly and unexpectedly in the middle of the Swiss rounds of Worlds. =P

what's with all the hype?? does everybody fear "CHANGE"?? I for one, DO NOT!! all this frenzy reminds me when it was bye bye WOTC and hello PUI and welcome the EX series...alot of players in my area were like, the game is over, I'm not playing anymore and *wah*wah*wah*

Let's just wait and see on what will officially be released and what have you...

...I fear change.

I am going to hate it when D\P comes out.

naa the same happen every time a set comes out a lot of people thinking how it will change the game, the true is that people and their ideas are the ones who changes the game, the metagame and of course the points of view towards something, for exemple we have Holon castform in some thought what the **** a Pokemon that's an energy is so broken it will ruin the game, and it comes out and the people who say that played it change the game in a possitive way is not like something is to broken than all people will play

Guess with this set we won't have a "insert card name here should be banned from play as it is too broken" thread made.....

Can anyone who says "I'm quitting" just stop now? I've seen it too many times now, please wait until you've tried it. Tried the minimal rule changes to the game that actually just improve it.

I guess anyone who complains about the rule changes is either a Politoad player, Shedinja player or someone with weak nerves who'd freak out if his pillowcases's color changed.
Depends on how well the TFG does. Before, we didn't have another Pokemon game to go into. Now, there will be an alternative.

I cannot outright quit, I have 2 leagues. If anything, I'll just be playing pre-D/P. I've been wanting to play more of the older stuff anyway, which is why I've been putting together gym leader decks to correspond with the league theme (Celadon City, I put together an Erika deck).

Again, it isn't so much "W/R rule change sucks!" but it is that D/P does not appear like it will mix well with the EX-series. A lot are wondering about the usefullness of the pre-PK cards when the Modified rotates (maybe we'll get a DS-PK Modified and a D/P Modified? :/ ). And the names and designs of the new Pokemon leave much to be desired from the first 150-250  .

Tego, is D/P played in a different block format from EX in Japan? I heard that the block sets are not mixed in Japan. If that is true, what happens when a card text changes in a different block set, like Metal Energy? Is it played as written in respect to which block format you're playing in (E-set, play with damage reduction no matter what type it is attached to; R/S, play the way we currectly do), or does the newest print re-write all previous versions, like the way we play it outside Japan?

However, I hate fossils! I'll welcome that rule change.

The EX series didn't mesh well with the stuff before it initially either. EXs were pointless at first, and Confusion was made totally worthless amirite!

The E-series was odd too. Supporters? Who needs those?

Oh god new rules, LET'S ALL QUIT PLAYING THE GAME

I agree with you on that one. When the Ex's were released I was like...who the heck is gonna use these? About a year or two later almost every deck I build is using an Ex.

By "not mesh well," I meant "will totally dominate."
However, that is hindsight. Still have to see what will happen to the Modified.

When Confusion was changed, I was so glad it wasn't able to take Lilypad Mew with it.

Wait...Confusion was changed? lol. How was it changed? I don't exactly remember this...the damage was changed or was it something else? Refresh my memory...-_-. lol.

We have very different views on what a good card is and how it would or would not dominate. Like I've said before, IMO there is ONE card, that is insane, but other than that, The top 5 cards in this don't compare to how Raichu d, Eggs d, Mew ex, Metagross d or Dragonite d have affected this metagame and will continue to. It's not going to be a game breaking set, except maybe for that ONE card.

Originally, Confusion dealt 20 damage, and required a flip to retreat.

They changed it to 3 damage counters, with no flip to retreat.

The flip to retreat part was the big deal.

They also changed retreating to once per turn.

Oh please, just like when supporters and ex's first came out, I'm sure most of us will be able to adapt. If you don't like the new fossil or Stage X rules then don't put them in you new decks. The new wekness rule is not that bad. I'll start from scratch from D/P up for new decks if I have to.

i've already got basically every card from both dp sets, and am already making decks, they mesh just fine with old stuff, firestarter blaziken, dp2 series typhlosion, and infernape lvl x, for example.
