Discard Boost energy

Hi,

If someone attaches a Boost energy to a basic pokemon can you discard it (and this counts as their attachment for this turn) or do they have to put it back in their hand and they get to attach another energy ? Or is this a judges decision ?

I did try to search for the answer but I couldn't find it if it's there.

It's a judge's ruling, but the ruling should be that it gets rewound and they get to attach another energy card.

If nothing else has happened, or it's at least an easy fix - put it back in your hand, and attach a correct Energy. If you've shuffled your hand in, and drawn new cards...that would be an example of "not an easy fix".
