Does Virizion's Verdant Wind prevent poison on Suicune/Sigilyph with Safeguard?

Suicune/Sigilyph's Safeguard says: "Prevent all effects of attacks, including damage, done to this Pokemon by Pokemon-EX".

Virizion's Verdant Wind says: "Each of your Pokémon that has any {G} Energy attached to it can't be affected by any Special Conditions. (Remove any Special Conditions affecting those Pokémon.)"

Could someone please confirm that as long as at least one {G} or Rainbow Energy is attached to Suicune/Virizion that they are protected by Verdant Wind when Virizion EX is in play and therefore would not be affected by special conditions (assuming no Garbotoxin or similar ability-nullifier)?

Safeguard prevents the effects of attacks. Verdant Wind is an Ability, not an attack. Verdant Wind still protects pokémon with Safeguard.
