Email was sent back to you on March 13th titled "RE: Shad0wkiller78 & Pokekid". Better check your filter.
Odd, I never did receive this email. I know that I would have opened it if I saw that subject line...

Well I checked my filters and made some adjustments. Could you please re-send this email or put it in a PM for me?? If you could so that I can get an update on what's going on, I'd greatly appreciate it!

You know, it's really hard to get rid of bad traders, but I still would like to ask, "Why can't you just ban the 'really bad traders' from poke'gym entirely?"
You mean, ban ANY bad trader.

one more time...

You know the saying, "A fool and his money are soon parted"!
Same thing for a fool and his cards.

Thought it would be worthwhile starting this topic.
Be a smart trader. Build up trust with your trading partners by starting small.
Don't do a huge trade with someone you don't know as your first trade.
Build references with trusted trading members.
In person trades don't count. There's no trust involved.

If we get some good feedback here, we can incorporate it into an official forum guidelines.

Just remember, you don't have to think everyone is a thief, but don't be a patsy either.
Bumping this back up to the top, since good advice never goes stale...THINK before you trade, people!

I completely agree with PokeMom.

A couple things to think about concerning mass rippers. WHY do you think they have so many usernames? They are trying to make themselves untraceable.

- They build up lots of positive refs and feedback, a lot of times with some of the most trusted traders on a particular site. They do a mass rip, discontinue trading on that username, create a new one, rinse, and repeat.
- Just because you've never been ripped by the person does not mean that you never will.
- Mass rippers start off by gaining a lot of trust and usually start with small trades, for items that aren't worth much. They build up a large amount of positive refs. You may trade with them dozens of times during this period, and most times the trades will gradually get larger. Then, you'll make a huge deal, usually for hundreds of dollars worth of stuff, and that is when they'll rip you off and disappear. But you aren't the only one they rip off. They'll also rip off another 20 or so people, or as many as they can within a specific period of time before anyone notices.

I have to totally agree with you butterfly. If people didn't do that I would trust alot more people and trade alot more.

I have to agree with alot of people here, there are a lot of bad traders out there, which is why I am glad that prime is helping me out right now with any trades I am making. Hello to Lawman as well though. I am actually trying to trade online now so this is all new to me I have never traded online at all.

In any case just post my comments from what I have seen, and in my opinion there is no way to truly ban a bad trader, I have to agree far with sd pokemon he brings up a good point that we as a community have to be the ones to refuse to deal with them. I can sit here and say "Why dont the admins just ban them?" but unless I personally do something about it what good is them banning. The internet is a hard plan to truly ban even using an I.P. Ban, people who are rotten are going to find ways around everything.

That is my opinion on the matter and sorry if it is a big longwinded and unsmooth in transition.

Just got trade burned by SuperStar. Sucks that his thread was locked down and I didn't catch that he was a liar and a stealer until after I sent my cards to him. I'll be posting in the refs section. Needless to say I'm never sending first again.

Hi everyone, I'm looking to build up some friendships through this community... seemed like out of ALL the tons of Poke sites, that this was going to be a good community to be a part of :)

How to build trust and get trades?

Be weary, yes, but what can a newbie like myself do, who has limited resources to obtain cards do to trade with folks here? I've run in to two things so far here: No one trades with me due to lack of Uber cards, or people try to offer very little for the few good cards one does get by chance from a random booster bought.

I find either other newbies want to trade and they don't have what I want, or I get pms from folks trying to sell me packs of sets I never posted for. I just got into pokemon due to my son about a month ago, and while I've learned alot here as far as spotting fakes, techs, deck building, etc., I can't build a rep when no one trades for what you got! Being the sole provider in the family makes it tuff to spend mass ca$h on the cards. is that the only way to get the cards needed to trade for what you need for decks? That's how it was when I played MTG back in the revised days, and I hoped pokemon would be a little different, because it was more kid friendly, and something my son and I could do. so any pointers you fine people could give a newbie would be helpful!

PS: I will NEVER buy cards from a swap meet again!!! LOL

I have a question. I live in england and I have started trading with 2 guys in the USA. I have sent first as I had no refs. The thing is I didn't know that english first class stamps were not recognized by the US posts. One woman from my post office told me that the cards I've sent are certainly stuck in a US post, the other one told me that the cards would be delivered but that the receiver would have to pay twice.

Have you encoutered this kind of problem ? I want to know if the cards will be delivered.
