The game might work still.

On a related note someone stole my GBA once with Mario Kart Super ciucut and threw it in a toilet. ( did not do a number 1 or 2 on it) I found an hour later and it worked perfectly game and all.

so did you tell them that you'd been pushed into a hot tub along with the DS? or are they going to be selling a water-damaged DS to someone else?

They always see if its working when you turn it in so I'm pretty sure they were aware of the condition of the lite.

didnt check it, but unfortunately im gonna be the bad guy on that and say its there fault for not checking it. and note that they rarely check stuff at gamestops in my area, another friend of mine traded an old ds with a busted screen w/o any probs. So yeah, and the games do work still.

brilliant: pass the buck, as long as i get mine, who cares about things like ethics and honesty, right?

and we wonder why things are as they are these days...

'mom =/

wow ok so i work in a retail establishment and if the employees don't take the time to care for there products than why should i care?... and btw i think your little sardonic attitude is unnecessary.

nice.

so it isn't that YOU did something unethical/dishonest, it's all the _store's_ fault for not checking/asking/thinking someone would knowingly attempt to sell them something they KNEW was damaged?

so what were you going to do if they HAD checked and found the damage? 'oh, my bad'? it's 'okay' since it's a "store" and not a person you know?

btw: why didn't your 'friend' replace your DS, since they're the one who damaged it?

*facepalms*

SD why are you making a big deal out of it... so what it was his choice and once they check it and find that it isnt working they will just send it in and it will be either replaced or fixxed...

what I can't understand is why they didn't check? I know at our stores, they would check on it. And you have to give your info when they do a trade in. Who's to say they aren't going to call you about it?

Remind me to never deal with people that pull crap like that. And lets not here any whining from you if someone pulls the same thing on you.

I dunno, if the Gamestop people are stupid enought to take a used system without actually checking the condition it is in first, well they deserve to be stuck with a useless system. If they had checked it and still accepted it, well, w/e, I guess they like broken systems.

That's not nice.
But yeah, I'm gonna have to take your side, it's not as though you lied and told them it was functioning correctly (I assume). Though I don't blame SD PokéMom for what she said.

What consoles out there are known to be waterproof?

WOW!!!! Just wow....*facepalms*

I "guess" when a Judge asks you about a gamestate in a pokemon tourney game....you are "honest abe" then, eh??? Buyer beware when dealing with you, I guess. I dont know where you play PTCG at, but you better hope that your PTO doesnt see this thread or else you may take a hit in the ole credibility department.

Just bc the Company employee didnt check it doesnt make it right! If you were to sell a house w/o informing the new owners of certain defects, then they could sue you back for damages. SD Mom is 100% correct to call your character into question. Of course, you answered that question for us already with this thread.

Ethics, morals, values - DO THESE WORDS MEAN ANYTHING TO YOU?!?!

And, I too... *facepalms*
