Elekid

I restarted my fire red but I did'nt finish it. Now I am looking for elekids and I can't find any and I've spent a while looking for them on rout 204. Do I have to get a national dex to get elekids or am I searching the wrong place

Are you playing on FireRed or D/P? You should be playing D/P.

Yes, you need the National dex. Also, the GBA game has to be in the Slot before you turn on. Also, you can only find Elekids in the south of Route 204 *gasps*

Sorry I just reread my original post and it didn't seem very clear on what I was asking so I will try to explain it again.

I recently restarted my fire red virsion but I didn't get very far. I only got past the first gym. Then last night I wanted to get an elekid in my dimond virsion with I have beten the elite 4 and gotten a national dex. But I cant find any elekid. My question is do I have to complete my fire red and get the national dex in that or am i just unlucky.

You need the PokeRadar in south 204.

The grass in Valley Windworks has Elekids. There is also a chance that they will carry Electrizers on them when you catch them.

(Personally, I'd recommend catching a female one, evolve it to an Electabuzz, find a male Pokémon that knows Ice Punch, and put them in the Day Care center)

You shouldn't have too hard of a time since you are using Diamond w/Fire Red. I know when I use Pearl w/Leaf Green, I encounted Magby's about 1:20 Pokemon I run into. Also remember:

50% Elekids are holding Electirizers w/FR plugged in when using Diamond.
5% Elekids are holding Electirizers w/FR Plugged in when using Pearl.

Just the opposite when looking for Magbys with Magmarizers w/LG.

It's actually 8% for all Pokemon obtained with GBA Slots

put a pokemon with the static ability at the front of your party,
thats what i did, i also didnt finish fire red
i searched at the valley windworks near the patch where drifblim is at
without poke radar

(i searched during the afternoon 1200-300)
it didnt feel like 8% to me though, :\
managed to catch 3 and run into a bunch of others

If you are just after the Electirizers, using Thief is so much easier and cheaper than capturing Elekids.

If you want to leave getting the item to chance, Covet is a better attack.
If not, get a Banette with Frisk and Thief, so you can detect an item and take it.

It's not the fact that I can't find any electricicers I just can't find elekid.

Just use the PokeRadar, and look for an Elekid there. Much easier to get more in a row
