The thought behind this would be to have the Empoleon line attack, switch in Omastar and devolve the opponents pokemon whenever necessary, and then TGW so they dont have an easy time getting those pokemon back out. I feel like the concept could be decent seeing as there arent many strong basic pokemon in the format. I'm trying to think of a good deck for states, so any advice on this one or suggestions for a better deck type would be appreciated.

Hmm. I remember someone talking about having built this deck at Nationals 2007... Anyway, this is a pretty cool list, i like it, and it's a very good counter for the format. I would probably find a way to get at least 1 Relicanth GE in there and maybe 1-2 Fossil Excavator. Other than that, i like this list alot.

Yeah that's a good idea. I could maybe take out a warp point and pokenav for 2 fossil excavator. i dont really want to add Relicanth though seeing as its only use is to draw fossil cards... and id have to waste an attack to do so. I havent actually tested this deck but it seems pretty good. I might throw it together tomorrow and see how it goes. Thanks for your help.

I'd also add some Fossil Excavator, it's the ultimate Fossil Pokemon search card. I'd also consider uping the Celios a bit as well, maybe the Candy.

you wont always need mantines power.
and he plays 2 warp point, so i think cess would be a good idea.

Yeah I thought about using cess, but couldnt think of anything to take out for it. They also might cause more trouble than they're worth, seeing as pachirisu would get a big advantage, and omastar can devolve the opponents pokemon anyways.

I had this built for nationals, but changed things up a bit. I was going to run it with Emp, and Delta Marowak. It might be better now though.

i played against this deck at cities and it didnt work as well as you would hope
i played magmortar against it and won
it wasnt against a noob either

Yeah I havent tested it yet, but it seems like a lot would need to go right for it to be effective. This would probably work a lot better with the new Omastar coming out in the next set. Do you think an Empoleon/palkia/claydol deck might have a shot in states or should I just give up and go with magmortar or g/g?
