At Nats and Worlds:
Would it be plausable to have a workstation area that is designated strictly for providing web-based entertainment (web updates and interviews of the event)?
In the era of reality television, how come we haven't employed some of the formulas that make these TV shows interesting and exciting?
An update center could employ 4 - 6 personnel who can provide web-based entertainment that would include:
- a "confessional" booth where players can tell the camera about their win/loss.
- updates of the Event's webpages
- Build up to certain matches (or player hype documentary)
- Video Surveys (i.e. "Why do you think there is so much LuxChomp in the tournament today?" , "What are some things YOU are going to do when the matches are finished today?")
- Informational Videos about the venue, Event Daily Wrap-ups
Pokemon "pays" its volunteers with swag. You just need to find 4 - 6 people who would collaborate and rotate at the Update Center for really cool swag (like that Pokemon Professor backpack + Hats + Packs .. etc.).
Swag it up and make it BIG WILLY STYLE!
I've always wondered why Pokemon hasn't promoted its events properly.
I think having a web offering with an entertainment slant would just BOOST event participation with the stunning effectiveness.
Am I making any sense to anyone?
