Evolving Team Magma pokemon

I know that this is the absolute most basic of questions, but I need to ask anyway...
Can pokemon with "Team Magma's" designation (i.e. Team Magma's Baltoy) evolve into pokemon without the "Team Magma's" designation (i.e. Claydol from GE)?

I know that pokemon with the "Dark" designation can only evolve into a pokemon with the "Dark" designation. And that pokemon with a gym hero in their name (i.e. Brock's Vulpix) can only evolve into a pokemon with that gym hero's name.

But the Team Magma (and Team Aqua) are in a much smaller font and seem less prominent?? So, I was not sure?

Look at the "evolves from..." statement on the card.
You will see that the higher stage says "Evolves from Team Magma's (or Aqua's)..."

All you have to do is read the card text. You are not expected to know anything that is not on the card.

So, yes, you have to have the right, full name.
