Excadrill Primal Clash Deck

I'm sure everyone has been thinking about the new ability that at least a couple pokemon have that allows them to attack twice per turn. I have a pretty stable bronzong deck with aegislash and dialga, but I noticed excadrill while going through some of my primal clash cards.

What do you guys think about a deck like this?

Pokemon (18)
4 - 4 excadrill
3 - 3 bronzong
2 aegislash
2 dialga

Trainers 18
3 evosoda
3 ultra ball
2 battle compressor
1 escape rope
2 prof letter
2 vs seeker
3 muscle band
2 steel shelter

Supporter 12
2 lysandre
2 N
3 sycomore
3 shauna
2 pokemon fan club

Energy 12
8 steel
2 shield
2 double colorless

Total 60 cards

I was thinking of obviously getting excadrill with muscle band and helping get energy on them with bronzong. That is potentially 140 per turn for a stage 1. Then having dialga and aegislash as back up just in case I am in a pinch and need pokemon out now that I do not need to evolve.

What do you guys think? All criticism is welcome.

Thanks.

Hmm, very interesting deck idea... I love it!!! It has a very good amount of synergy, and everything just flows nicely as I mock up battles in my head. Only thing I would do personally is since your deck relies heavily on evolution, I would maybe drop one vs seeker and add in one more evosoda

You could add 1 pokémon with free retreat cost. Or play a few copies of float stone.

I like Keldeo ex and float stone combo.

I don't think I would play such a thick Excadrill line. If its main purpose is to be a non-EX attacker and a soft Pyroar counter, then I would play a 2-2 line and use the other four spots for more supporters. Your lines look pretty thin.

I know this thread is a little old, but I also play a variation of this deck as my primary and LOVE IT. Here's some variations I try:

Like you, I play 4 EXs, swapping around between Dialga, Keldeo, Aegis, and Coballion. If playing more Dialga / Aegis EX, go 4x DCE and 0 shield energy to help them set up faster. Also, if you can attach a DCE and a steel to your excadrill, you can be doing 100-140 damage by turn 2, which is hard to counter. DCE also helps setup Dialga if that's more what you start with.

I have also tried Cobalion-EX, in which case go for Shield Energy over DCE since Cobalion doesn't much benefit from DCE but Dredging 2x Shield Energy can be nice.

Pokemon Fan Club + Evosoda are your friend. I play 3x each. YOu need to set up a lot of Bronzor / Driburs to get this machine rolling on all cylinders.

I play 2x-3x Float Stone, 3x Muscle Band and maybe a Silver Bangle (id 2x float stone). I play, believe it or not, 1x-2x Elesa, since getting tools out on Excadrill / whoever you need to float away is so important to this deck.

I float Keldeo EX or my steel EX (Aegis is nice to block anyone play special energies, Dialga is nice to troll opposing EXs like Toad).

Basic flow always tends to be lead with an EX or Bronzor, try and get a float stone on it, play a Drillbur turn 1, try and get a steel & DCE on it within 2 turns and evolve / evosoda on turn 2. If you can evolve and only have 1 energy on it by turn 2, you can still dredge and do 50-70 damage on turn 2 and 100-140 (160 with Silver Bangle against EX) by turn 3.

PRO TIP: Dredge basic steel energy to make it easier for Bronzong to recycle. If Excadrill gets knocked out, try and get a float stone on Bronzong so it can have an extra turn to Steel Link and set up whoever is on deck (hopefully another Excadrill or maybe a steel EX). Bronzong can only Steel Link to bench pokes, so if you switch in a new Drillbur after an Excadrill gets knocked you, you can't set it up.

You may be tempted, but you don't need professor's letter / battle compressor with Dredge. You'll kill a lot of Excadrills and send a lot of steel to the discard without it.

Steel Shelter plays well against Laserbank. Also, Alpha Barrage is not an ability to Garbador doesn't shut it down. :)
