Expanding the "Elite Trainer" product line: Survey

Yu-Gi-Oh! did the "mousepad material" mats with Gold Series 4. I BELIEVE they were rolled. (Been a long, long time since I've bought one, but the box shape is designed in a way that makes this pretty much the only possible way.)

The paper playmats do crease to a noticeable degree, but it's not really that bad considering they're paper, and they're still flat enough to use. (They look better than Pokemon's ones, too.)

The duel boards (the hard cardboard Legendary Collection ones) are perfect IMO. I doubt these would be possible for Pokemon's Elite Trainer Boxes without increasing the price, though, I'd imagine they're pretty expensive to produce. (And the packaging would have to be a lot bigger, especially factoring in Pokemon's field size is larger than Yu-Gi-Oh!'s due primarily to Prizes.)

Looking at the gold series 4 mat, and the way it is folded, from someone opening one on youtube, I don't think it would fit in the Elite Trainer Box unless you sacrifice the 8 boosters and energy.

Maybe if it was somehow held in the lid area, because when you buy an Elite Trainer Box, there are 2 cardboard things that hold the lid up, and I don't think there is anything taking up that space?

I am curious if any of the Professor/PTO/Judge types here can comment on whether the really bad ETB sleeves are going to be allowed in sanctioned tourneys coming up (States). All three ETB's I opened had badly wrinkled seams on at least one of the sides in the brand new package. Others have mentioned similar experiences, so I think this is a broad manufacturing issue and not an isolated issue with my ETB's.

Can you guarantee that if it stays folded like that that 100% of the elite trainer boxes with a playmat in it won't have a crease in it? Does your playmat fit so perfectly that nothing else fits inside?

Let me clarify: after rolling it, I put all the same items in the box that came out of it, and they fit well. I honestly don't know about creasing, though. There wasn't a noticeable crease when I pulled it out, but I only had it in a couple of minutes.

I just finally thought of something, and I don't know why I was thinking about this sooner. Unfortunately for me, when I first read the survey, I thought what it wanted was for items to replace the existing elite trainer box, and when I re-read it, it is trying to convey the idea of an "Elite Trainer" brand for the pokemon TCG as a whole, containing the "Elite Trainer" name on different products, or should I say, set associated products beyond the booster pack and theme decks.

We have the Red Genesect collection.

We have the Kalos Starter Set.

We know that the Kalos Starter set has the regular version and the deluxe version right?

What if, for every set going forward, we had an all holo deck similar to the red genesect collection? So where does the Kalos Starter set come in?

Each set can have the regular theme decks, that is packaged the same way it always had, like how the regular version of the kalos starter set is packaged. Each set then comes with a third preconstructed all holo deck, that contains POKEMON from different standard legal sets. The all holo deck would cost more than the theme deck, is more competitive than the theme deck, and contains a booster from that particular set. I guess it could be called an Elite Trainer Holo Deck or something. So this product is an all holo deck, with a booster pack, and a coin, playmat, damage counters etc. I just came up with the most genius idea. Package it in the same packaging as the deluxe version of the kalos starter sets.

I know that there is an option in the survey that says that there should be an elite trainer product similar to the red genesect collection, but it would be sort of a waste to still use that bulky box set like box that the red genesect collection uses, rather than use the Kalos starter set deluxe version packaging.

As said before, every year should be two 60 card vs decks to tie in with the movie, each containing an EX or equivalent card. This of course, is not part of the Elite Trainer brand, because it isn't set associated, just like all the tins and box sets out there.

I really think that there should be precons beyond the theme deck that is an annual release. (World championship decks don't count).
