Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Explain your most favorited decks to win for cities.

I personally Have to agree with the sentiment that there are no top 4 decks. Everything is so unknown right now that there will be a large amount of rogue decks in addition to what's popular. additionally I feel that every poke type has at least one pokemon that can represent them well enough to counter any other type. Psychic has gengar, dusknoir and AMU. Water has Kingdra and empoleon. Fire has Magmortar and Infernape. Electric has Ampharos, Raichu, and Luxray. Metal has Magnezone. Grass has Leafeon and Torterra. Fighting has Machamp. Dark has T-Tar and weavile variants. Colorless has Garchomp.

In addition there are many other pokemon that have slightly less equal chances of being played and i feel that the decks that win cities will be because of 3 things.
1) Popularity of certain decks.
2) Skill of player to build and play decks.
3) Luck of the draw.

there will be 1 deck that beats everything. i do not know what that deck is currently, but i will do my best to find that out.

Has anybody thought of Heatran Lv X Rapidash deck? I think this is a good deck because Heatran Lv X has a Poke Power that prevents burn to only come off if you retreat or use a full heal. Also, Rapidash has a Poke Body that when it's active and is damaged by an opponents attack, they're burned.

I think the citys format will bassically be the brs format except -AMU +Gengar/Dusknoir varients.

Everything else seems to fail in comparison to these.

Gengar / Dusknoir needs a name. I was thinking "GD" but that's probably a bit too adult. GaDfly is my curren thought.

Anyway
1. Gengar Dusknoir
2. Kingdra
3. Torterra
4. Counters & rogue ... many possiblities here.

i really dont think machamp is a good play. decks that are designed against a particular deck, usually arent too good if you play them against any other deck

I don't know about torterra... I mean it's a good deck but I couldn't see it being popular. What I'm saying is it has the potential but not many will use it. Kinda like last format.

what I want to win?

Kaubtops I think is underated.
and unlike some people say, Kingdra is not dead...

I want to see some bidoof win cause I think It'd be hilarious :p

Maybe some darkrai will do good? with gengar and dusknoir being weak? I dunno really.

Gengar/dusknoir I think is horribly overrated. Raichu and kabutops are extreamly underrated. Kingdra isn't dead. Machamp is decent. Thats my opinion. Magnezone might be decent to but it's a bit slow and inconisistent.

I don't see how Magnezone is inconstant, when its one of the most reliable decks out there. Also, why is Torterra any good? It wasn't great last season and its not any better now. It can't beat anything fast.

It looks to be a repeat of the BRs just with a few new options. The only ones new that seem worth it is Gengar, Magnezone, and Tryanitar. Kingdra still looks like the safe play, and AMU is better if you actually know how to play properly.

Torterra is a beast. The only reason why it wasn't big last season is because the MD Torterra came out late in the season and only saw play at Nats.

Once MD came out torterra was very good. It came in forth at nats. Torterra was good durring BRS and its' even bettere now.

Also magnezone is inconsistent because there are a lot of different magnezones and you have to focus on one. If you don't you will never get what you want quickly. Also the deck relies on powers. Shut down powers for a turn or 2 and you lose. It's also a stage 2 deck that likes energy so it's already slowed down to T3 most likely cause you don't have room for speed and the deck fails with speed so you lose to decks like kingdra and gengar and machamp. Also it doesn't have enough attack powerf. 80 + paralize isn't that good cause everyone plays warp point and switch. 50 + 10 for each metal. Good luck getting enough metals on it for enough damage and once you do and it dies it's pretty mcuh game then. And the new ones are really only good for their powes so yeah.

A well built Torterra deck can easily stand up to a speed deck. While other decks suffer from the loss of DRE/Scramble, Torterra takes advantage of those decks by using Sceptile to double it's energy count.
Also, it's insanely hard to actually KO a Torterra thanks to SSU and PokeHealer.

roar, Tort scares me because I've only played one ever and it was a pretty weak build...

eh, kabu kills rare candys....

I thinkthe only real reason Torterra is getting hype is be ause previously it was so awfull.
