Its ok. Isn't football played only in america? If so, how did Japan get the idea for an anime like this?
 
No, American Football is not only played in America. =_=; Besides, "Japan" did not get an idea for this. Inagaki Riichiro, the author of the manga, had this idea.

According to Wikipedia, the number of children playing American Football in Japan has doubled since the manga was released four years ago. The 25 volumes combined have sold over 16 million copies.

The anime is sponsored by NFL Japan.

i started watching it when it came out :p but then stopped cause . . .
it started doing fillers and stallers >.<
(i was waiting for it to get dubbed X3)

i simply loved the manga XD (most reread manga for me :p)
(also got me kinda interested in football XD)

Now doubt about that. I had heard something about this on GameFAQs along time ago, but it never happened so I forgot about it. You have to remember, Football is American. But so is Baseball. Its the great American passtime! Whats more American than Baseball?! But Baseball is HUGE in Japan too. Well, I guess I should probably get around to watching it just for kicks.(Haha, get it?)
