Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Fairfax, VA ex Dragon Frontiers PR Saturday, 10/28

Sure, why not?? (just no masks, please!!). Shudders at the thought of the PTO being pulled over on I-95 in a giant Pikachu suit....

Jonathan's got a Tucker costume?!

hum... halloween costumes. I know what I'd be, but I need longer hair.

imagine the press - "Pikachu caught reckless driving; Nintendo declines comment"

EDIT:
I'll bring candy for those who come dressed in halloween costumes (I'll probably miss Halloween due to a lab class :frown: ). Please keep costumes appropriate (yes, totoro, I'm looking at you  ).

Back to back posts merged. The following information has been added:

Some additional info on locating Hobby Works. The shopping center's most notable feature is its orange roofs. No matter if you're coming from Pickett Street or Main Street, there will be an orange sign saying "Fair City Mall". Be aware that you're looking for a shopping center, like you would see if you were looking for Game Parlor; not a "mall" like one would think Tysons Corner Center or Arundel Mills.

Pickett Street divides the shopping center. If you see a Chuckie Cheese, you will have to cross Pickett Street to get to the other side (you can go to the Chuckie Cheese after the tournament :thumb: ). If you see an AC Moore, Old Country Buffet, and Shoppers Food Warehouse, you're in the correct area. Go towards the movie theater, which is at the center of the "right angle" (shown on Mapquest's ariel view).

I see Mapquest has both North and South coming into the shopping center from Main Street. In this case, make a right turn after Pickett Street, at the crosswalk, to get into the shopping center. On your left side is Woodson High School (where the crosswalk leads). You will have gone too far if you pass this crosswalk and Woodson High School.

If you are coming from Old Town Fairfax and George Mason University, you will make a left turn at the crosswalk (on your right is Woodson high School, where the crosswalk leads) to get into the shopping center. If you miss it, make the left turn at Pickett Street and then another left turn to get into the shopping center.

Just for me? :-D

Glad to know you can make it, Mark!! This looks like a crazy weekend coming up for me. I've never done both a Sat and a Sun pre on the same weekend, but if Feraligatr can do it without going nuts, so can I!! Hope to see a big 'gym crowd in Fairfax on Sat!! My local players (most of whom don't post here) will be ready for Midlo on Sunday!

I'll be ready for Woodbridge then by next weekend--who knows, I might even get some three-peats!!

As most of you know, the deck boxes didn't make it from China :frown: so, please bring something to hold all of your great new cards!!

See you Saturday!

Mr. T.

Me too  .
My e-mail contacts appear to be during some sort of e-mail silence :nonono: so I don't have up-to-date information about attendance. I hope to (remember to) get a count from the library players Friday night. Most of my players (as in 99% of them) don't actually frequent this forum so none of them will be confirming attendance in this thread *sighs*.

I won't be there. I might not even be able to make richmond comix because I got hives! from acne pills! (allergic reaction)
I'll update tomorrow when I know more.

If you're not contageous, be there :thumb: .

I also plan on coming, my son too. We've been to Woodbridge and Dream Wizards...but never here. Wish Saturday tournaments were more common.

Ok, Ok, Poké-karate mon rules!!! Sorry about the little "demo" going on next to us!! (We really needed a hitmonchan/lee/top in this set, didn't we?? )

A great big THANK YOU for supporting Fairfax's initial premier event....but wait, prereleases aren't premier events any more...arrrrrgh, my head is hurting too much thinking about this!!!

A very big prop to the Princess and Megan for judging!! you guys were great. Thanks to Shadow Card for his persistence in getting a prerelease at his league spot--hey with an attendance of 38, we might get noticed by the big guys!!
Props to our Masters Division winner Scott!! Hey, the 18-25 crowd DOESN'T always win!!!!
Whoever you were who won the PokéBall sleeves (sorry, I didn't get your name)--you made my trip up 95 worth my time!! There is nothing like the look on a young Pokémon players face who wins a "cool" prize!!!

Slops to mall schedulers and yellow cards!! Sorry I couldn't control either of these things!!

Everybody put a big "X" on Sunday, Dec 3!! We WILL have a City Championship right here in Ffax (no karate this time, I promise)

We'll do this pre thing all over again tomorrow in Midlo and next Saturday in Wbridge. See ya!!!

Mr. T.

Thanks to Tim for providing the venue and Mr. Tuskey for setting everything up. Had a great time even though the rarest card I got was a Snorlax (two of them).

Slops to Ryan for not knowing his birthyear. ="(

Maybe Woodbridge next week? I'll see.

sweet!

Thank you everyone who came! Glad you guys liked the Samarai store. I thought that might get some people's attention. I also heard in the GameStop that they noticed it was busier than they thought it was going to be.

Special thanks to super PTO totoro for managing the event (and showing TOM who's boss  ).
