Fall 2013 Pokémon Regional Championship - Pleasanton

I just added info to the top post about prizes. Update on pre-registration. Well, its getting closer. Thanks for your continued interest. Its going to be something that lets us start the event very quickly this year, however, its brand new and not ready yet. I'm hoping to have ticket purchases (which will be separate, unless we have to go back to Eventbrite, which was not bad) up by Sunday night.

Also, I'll be back in a few minutes with info on reserving your XY cartridge.

Right! Here's the good news:
  1. Call the local GameStop (with your Credit Card) and reserve your copies over the phone!
  2. The GameStop will be sending an employee with cartridges to the event both days 12-2!

It does work, I just reserved my X from them. : D

Will they bring the timeline posters if we reserve both? :p

Anyway, does this mean those of us that do this just pay the $10 entry fee? And is that $50 entry fee going away since you won't be providing the games?

I know that this is probably the best you could do and it's a great idea, but won't it be a bit difficult to head over to GameStop between 10:00 and 11:30 between TCG rounds? Unless they're bringing their own cash register, I don't think the GameStop employee will be able to hand out the games to those who only dropped $5 for the reservation...

The GameStop there is sending someone to the location with games for those that reserved copies with them. I did ask and they said they will be able to take card payments on-site. Just have to pay the remaining balance to get it.

Kim, what is the plan for Sunday if TCG Masters get 227+ players? It would seem to me if this happens there is no way 5 rounds and Top 8 will finish before the start of the League Challenge.

Ok, thank you. I wasn't sure if GameStop had the ability to sell outside their store, so this is the information I needed.

Chad, the good news is, if MA gets 227+, we'll have lots more Sunday PKMN TCG going on! We'll need to start the LC at the published time and it will overlap as you say.
 
That means at a recent local tournament you participated in, the wrong information got into the system. So now it can't verify your identity to allow you to pre-register.

You can just wait to register the day of the tournament in person, or contact the organizer to attempt to correct the information ahead of time.

Well, if you play in the VG Sunday, you can drop and enter the TCG League Challenge for free (instead of $5) in the afternoon.
 
attention players going to no. cal regionals: there will be NO player ID lookup available onsite! if you do not know your ID log into your pokemon.com account and it will be at the top of your 'my play pokemon' page.

you will be assigned a new number onsite and then have to open a support ticket w/pokemon to have the accounts merged if you don't have your number with you.
