Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Fast Food / Restaurants close to Americas Center?

If they could've used two rooms instead of one, it would have been *MUCH* easier to work with. A wider isle, or using 3-5 big isles instead of the one, putting the VGC in a different area, giving League more space to work with, etc. There was a room on either side of Nationals that wasn't being used all weekend. The America's Center is a fine location for US Nationals, both the VG and TCG. However, just one room wasn't enough for everybody that came.

Oh yeah. 1200 players sure. But what about parents/support? What about the VGC? I'd venture a guess that there were over 1700 people in that room at one point, possibly more. That room and the way it was set up was meant for about 1000-1300. This was PCI's first attempt at an independent US Nationals. I have no doubts that next year's event will be better in every way, much like this year's event was better run in nearly every way than last year's event. I mean, if the largest complaints are about the size of the room and the availability of food, that means that the event itself was excellently organized. I have heard no complaints about Judging, about timing, or about pretty much anything else associated with the event. I think that this year's Nationals was amazing, and it will only get better next year.

I can honestly say I've never seen that many Pokemon trainers in a Hooters before.

Eating options were good; only downside was walking distance. I'm sure we made the owner of BT pizza very happy.

I myself got Arby's Friday night and brought it with me Saturday. The Arby's was a good 10 minutes from America's Center though. We don't have Arby's in Boston anymore, so it was a special treat.

I must have lucked out, food-wise. I found a flyer for a guy who will pick up food for you from almost any restaurant (fine-dining, casual, fast-food) and deliver it to your hotel for no more than $6.

Saved me so much time and effort.

Next time, when in doubt, check out your hotel's lobby for flyers.

Haha we had to skip Hooters unfortunately, we had a 10 year old with us. We ended up eating at some sketchy chinese "buffet". We didn't get sick, at least.

The food situation definitely kind of sucked.

The food issue, if we go back to the STL will be addressed for next year.

I am already making contingency plans just in case (crosses fingers)...but having it here this year was too cool.

Thanks to all who travelled down (or up, or across!)

Vince

Thanks, Vince. The food was the major problem I found.

Other than that, a big step up from Origins.
