Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars
I agree Bleach is pretty awesome,
The Zanpakuto Arc was ok but after a while the monotony sets in..
and the Amagai arc was interesting at best

I didn't really like Bleach so much. It was too naruto-ish for me, and I didn't really like that one either. :nonono:

Imma throw a curve ball and say Clannad. O.O It's..... strange.... but you just can't stop watching, and the end has grown men bawling their eyes out.

These are already mentioned but Bleach is an all time fav for me. They tend to be a littL slow but when the action scene hits it makes up for it!!

FMA!! Full Metal Alchemist is heartbreaking sometimes..the very first episode i watched was wen a proffesor fussed his dog and daughter together just to "discover" that it could be done..he was crazee but so sad! i highly recomend watching it.

Code Geass-is an okay series from what i've seen. the powers they hev r neat.

Fruits Basket-is a very cute series ^~^ for all you girls who love romance and cute anime guys fighting over a girl check it out!

Inuyasha-was my very first anime i was interested in. i love Kagome & Inuyasha. its a funny but sweet anime with some action packed moments...it has it all! very long plot line thou

Death Note-i Love L!! the characters are amazing in ther own uniqe ways. and it has a very interestingly creepy plot :p

Look into these if your into anime!! you can go to onemanga.com to read them if you want..im all for discussing them & new ones!!

What about BLEACH was Naruto-like? If anything, BLEACH reminded me of Yu Yu Hakusho.

I'll see that for myself, though I've heard some people call it Clannaids. One look at a random pic from the show had me thinking, "Oh, so they kill you with cute." If there's one show that had me tearing up, it would have to be LOGH. Many manly tears were shed watching that show.

true. extremely strange haha. Anyone LOVE samurai Champloo!?

Right here. It's on my top ten list on the second page.

Which one? The first series or Brotherhood?

I started up Fruits Basket recently and I've got to admit that Honda is one of the few female leads I like.

Sorry, it just reminded me too much of Naruto for me to enjoy it.

Although, I'm not a very big anime fan and I've only seen a few episodes of it.

Which one? The first series or Brotherhood?

Very technically speaking, Brotherhood IS the original series. The writers for FMA obtained licensing rights from the creator of the Manga. The first several issues of the Manga were already in existence when they started work on the show and they were allowed to use the beginning of the story to start off. After that they were on their own.

So they began their own plot line which was completely independent from the comic. The show became a whole new entity and Hiromu Arakawa continued down her path with the book.

Now with Brotherhood, they are bringing the original story to the screen. If you noticed, the first 10, give or take, episodes of Brotherhood were kind of like a Cliff Notes version of the first. That was because we had already seen that portion of the story and there was no reason to go into all the detail again. That's what DVD collections are for, lol!

Now that the story has diverged, several episodes ago now, it has slowed back down to the kind of pace we were accustomed to with what we watched first. Only now it is going in a completely different, albeit just as intriguing direction.

Brotherhood must pull at the heartstrings more, because I catch my teenage daughter tearing up alot more with this one. The scene she has found the most endearing, and heartbreaking, is when Winry faces her parent's killer and hold Scar at gunpoint. She bawled! Personally, I just found myself thinking over and over, "Yeah! Do it! Do it! Blow him away!" but maybe that's just me, lol!

I have absolutely no idea where you got the notion that I lack little/no knowledge on Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood. I finished it not too long ago, and I'm certain that people who are only watching the english dub will enjoy the ending. In any case, I'm glad to hear you and your family are enjoying it.

SPOILER SPOILER alert

Again, what parts of BLEACH are like Naruto? If anything, Naruto feels a lot more like Hunter x Hunter.

Never seen Hunter x Hunter. I've only slightly heard of it.

IDK, Bleach just gave me the feeling of Naruto. I'm not so sure why. I wouldn't really look into it very much if I were you, it's just a feeling I got from watching the show is all.

If you ever watch Hunter x Hunter, you'll notice the Chuunin Exam in Naruto is more or less like the Hunter Exam in there.

I'm sorry, but that's the strangest reaction I've ever seen anyone have on BLEACH. It'd make a lot more sense if you compared it to Yu Yu Hakusho.

I think I can kinda understand the Bleach/Naruto connection. They're both shonen anime that came out around the same time. They both include fantastical elements. Both have clueless blond protagonists with an emo friend/rival, marginally attractive love interest, and Beatable Unbeatable big men. Both include elements of growth in everybody's power. Both take place, at least in part, in alternate realities. And both have obnoxiously large casts, at least at this point in their development. Not to mention similar character drawing styles. The stories might be wildly different, but, from a casual view, they can be similar.

I'd like for you to reconsider that sentiment as I'm more than confident that you've made some errors here and there when trying to find similarities to the two shows. If anything the two have these in common:

- large casts (BLEACH's is larger, by and far)
- training arcs
- lengthy battles
- filler
- ridiculously strong antagonists
- love interests (Naruto has one, BLEACH has three)

And that's pretty much it. To write off Ishida as just an emo rival would be just ignorant. Arrogant? A bit. Meticulous? Yes. The man might as well be a fashion designer and has no qualms designing his friends new clothes. For the record, Ichigo is red-haired. The only blond in his family is Yuzu, whereas his dad and Karin have black hair and his mom, brown.

Kubo's drawing style is worlds apart from Kishimoto. The detail he pours into his color spreads alone might as well suggest that he could've been a fashion designer if he so wanted. Kishimoto on the other hand goes for a simpler style.

The stories of BLEACH and Yu Yu Hakusho are similar in how they start. Guy meets cute embodiment of death and become semi-employed by Soul Society/Demon World. Also, one can compare the end of the Soul Society arc and the start of the Hueco Mundo arcs to those of the Chapter Black and Demon World arcs in Yu Yu Hakusho.

Sadly, I can't go into too much detail comparing Naruto and Hunter x Hunter as I've only seen 4 episodes of the latter. The only thing I can say though is that Naruto's Chuunin Exam is very much like the Hunter Exam.

Denjin, try coming at it from the perspective of a person who hasn't seen very much of any of those animes. Then the parallels between Naruto and Bleach become much more pronounced.

Oh, and there are at least two love interests for each of the main characters in Naruto. All of them are one-sided.

That's what I was trying to explain. I stated in an earlier post that I don't really watch anime. Thanks :thumb:

It's not that I was born into this world knowing a lot about anime...not at all. I started BLEACH and Naruto at around the same time one year, and those thoughts I expressed now were the exact same ones I had when I started them.

Any parallels you draw between Naruto and BLEACH can be drawn from just about any shonen title. One Piece, Katekyo Hitman Reborn, Gintama, etc., carry similar elements (tropes) that are easily noticible. So while you can bring those up, just know that you can easily bring up ones from other anime/manga that fit the bill.
