I don't mean to thread hi-jack. I'm just very interested in this deck style.

I don't know much about the new meta except Fire seems to be the new beatdown color. I'd say MAYBE throw 2-2 Metapod (Ability that nulls fire weakness) so you don't get wasted right off the bat.

I'm actually working on a similar deck. This isn't even remotely finalized just stuff I've been tinkering with and throwing around. I haven't played since Expedition so bare with me. Again, I don't mean to thread jack but I've been wanting to get back into the game since HGSS base and I finally have the time and money to get back into again.

4-4 Cinccino
2-2 Metapod
4 Illumise
4 Volbeat
2 Cleffa
Tyrogue

2 Professor Juniper
2 Flower Shop Lady
4 Pokemon Collector
4 Switch
4 Revive
4 Pokemon Communication
4 Dual Ball

4 Rescue Energy
2 Double Colorless Energy
7 Grass Energy

Other cards I've considered:
More Juniper
More Flower Shop Lady
Judge
Twins
Junk Arm
2 (Blister Pack Promo)-1-2 Serperior (Royal Heal since all of my main attackers have low HP)
Tropius (undaunted)
Shaymin (Unleashed)

If you dont mean to thread jack, post a new thread...

What about a 1-1 Zoroark? It could really help in the prize trade and I can easily fit in 3rd DCE

I rather suggest 3 zoroark lines, screw Do the Wave! you have Foul Play!!

But seriously, for prize exchange you already have a good hitter wich is illumise, Zoroark would only come handy against Zekrom, unable Emboar, RD legend, and Magnezone, 2 dominant decks, but against Yanmega or Donphan you are gonna suffer big time.

In my personal experience Simipour is better to get rid of the actual meta due to it`s type, a pretty unreliable attack, but a much better result against high HP pokemons, a potential 120 damage just like Illumise, with a higher cost, consider that if you run Zoroark you will need 1 turn to set, a second turn to evolve and your bench space is quite limited, you will lose the prize exchange if you don`t set zoruas to backup, so include 2 or 3 Seekers to help you get rid of useless bench, also you already have a really good chance to donk with these guys.

i run a very similar deck. Just no babies. They're pointless.

Here do this. I have two suggestions for you.

-2 Tyrouge
-2 DCE
-1 Alph 4
-3 Pokegear
-4 Juniper
-3 Pokeball
-1 Plus Power

Total: 12

Now add in these
+2-2 Yanmega Prime
+3 Copy Cat
+3 Judge
+2 Grass Energy

Total 12

This is a Yanmega prime back up attacker variant. It allows a lot of draw power, and a pokemon thats easy to set up for when your Volbeat/Illmuse are KO'd. You Don't need the DCE btw, the only attacks you should be doing with this deck are Vulcan Beat for a possible 120 on turn 1, or illumissle to snipe stuff. So DCE really isn't helpful.

If you don't like the Yanmega build, there is a tech I have been meaning to try in my IlMuse Swarm deck (Just cant find the card) and thats Jumpluff.

-2 Tyred face powder
-4 Juniper
-1 Alph
-2 DCE
-3 Pokegear

Total: 12

+2-1-2 Jumpluff
+3 Rare Candies
+2 Grass Energy
+2 Of whatever tech that isn't a pokemon.

Jumpluff works very well with this deck. Set up turn 1 with 1 Illmuse and 4 Volbeat, try to get a Hoppip out. Attach Energy where necessary. When Your Ilmuse/Volbeat (whichever you start with) is weak, send out Jumpluff for a minimum of 70, probably more by that time.

Let me explain some of the other stuff I suggested you take out.
Don't use DCE, its pointless as the only attacks you wanna use are Vulcan Beat and Illumissle, both wich require 1 grass energy. You want 10 Grass just to stay consistant.

You Dont need Juniper AND Oak. I suggest taking out Juniper over Oak. Yes, it gives you one more card, but you discard your hand, and watch how fast you mill your self.
Dont bother with Alph. If you're a good player (I don't mean to offend with this comment) you should know your deck like the back of your hand. If you need, when you use that first Collector or whatever, look through your deck and see what you're missing. the only time you need Alph is when you use it with Rotom, (I do it without)

Last thing is Pokegear. I guess if you really like it, go ahead and use it, but it seems pretty pointless to me. Just a waste of a tech imo.

I hope this helps you somewhat. This is one of my favorite Fun Decks, so I would love to see it be competitive one day.
