Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

First annual Double Battle Tournament Over, ~Blazi-King~ Wins!!!

If none of you like the Evasion increase, you don't have to join Peter's tournament. It's your fault for not bringing/teaching any Pokemon with Aerial Ace/Swift/etc. Evasion increase is part of strategy.

I am taking the OHKO moves, but the Evasion moves stay.

Evasion increasing is not strategy, it's just a cheap way of avoiding attacks and attempting to win. Seriously, you may like hour-long matches where no one hits anyone, but most people don't.

Well the attacks are in the game and Nintendo put them there for a reason. It is gameplay strategy. The evasion moves such as Agility, Protect, etc. don't always last forever. Plus, it is kind of your fault if you teach your Pokemon all moves that have low accuracy of hitting or have no way as to getting around evasion-type attacks. You expect most of us to teach moves over specific pokemon that we tought those moves to in the first place for specific reasons for a tournament? I say that all moves should be allowed because it's just cheap to not allow specific types of moves.

That's what the purpose of a battle is for. Winning. You rather have a Pokemon knocked out than live? Go right ahead. Evading attacks to outlive your opponent is a strategy. If you're playing an MMO, would you rather evade attacks or just take them then die?

i agree. Its like saying, ok everyone shoouldonly use the same moves. what fun is that?

Using evasion moves unbalances the game. Plus it just shows that you aren't good enough to win without them, by turning to rely on sheer luck rather than skill ;x The whole no legendary thing that people do is crap too. Certain pokemon unbalance things, others don't. The trio pokemon (Raikou, Azelf, Registeel, Moltres, etc.) are fair game for use, seeing as other, non-legendary pokemon are just as strong, if not stronger in some cases (such as Tyranitar).

OHKO moves are all luck, and the game has enough of that already, what with status hax and CHs. I'm not joining the tourny since i don't have DP, just thought i'd share my thoughts.

Well next time keep your thoughts to urself. This threade is for those who are partisipating in the tournement. And secondly, evasion moves and OHKO moves aren't about luck at all. All of you who say that they are cheep and that it takes no skill to use them are afraid of getting owned by them because all you have are attacking pokemon whos only strategy is attack until they get KOed. You people make me sick. This reminds me of the time I play Tekken competitivly. People always complaining when i powned the with Xiouyu.

Evasion and OHKO moves are luck-bound. With OHKO ones, you have a slim chance of instantly KOing the opponent outright, and heck you can get lucky and even possibly get a string of them to OHKO the opponent flat out. Evasion is also luck-bound, as I stated before you both'll just end up attacking and missing continually if both opponents were to use this, which leads to long-pointless matches that will be determined by whoever is lucky enough to land a hit. There is no strategy involved in using evasion or OHKO moves, just cheapness.

That being said, all you people who enjoy OHKO and Evasion only need to wait till the next one. As Blastoise-shellshocker said, next one will have them, so feel free then to Sheer Cold your opponents into submission as you please.

Also, Xiouyu sucks, Heihachi is better. Heck, even Law is better imo.

Wow. I seem to have created a debate. Oh well. Miami, to answer your questions, Sleep and freeze clauses simply mean that you can't put two of your opponent's pokemon to sleep or freeze them. Personally, I think Freeze clause, and any other effect clause other than Sleep Clause is stupid. Why you ask? Because every other Effect can be caused by offensive attacks. Sleep is the only one that you can't use except intentionally.
