I think you're misunderstanding what David0925 is saying. He's saying the BUYER had to quench his thirst to get the cards before the official release, and they paid tons of cash just to get it early.

The funny thing is by the time the buyer pays for it, card is mailed, and the buyer gets it it bet it will be Monday which will be the official release date. ;)

I think it's somebody in Pokegym. Plus, that's a ton for just one card. Charizard's popularity in TCG cards could be a factor though, but I can't believe $67 for one CharizardEx that's just unbelievable.

$67 is a lot for a card, but do you remember the reverse foil Professor Elm card that only Professors were able to get at first. I remember some of them going for over $100 on ebay last year, so that much for a Pokemon is not heard of.

I think a reverse TV Reporter will go over that amount easily, that one is much harder to get and it's only a trainercard.

From what I heard, Shining Rayquaza is only going for $125. $65 is waayy too much, considering Charizard will be all over the place in about a week or 2

Charizrd-ex? I have one

When I open the 3 pack booster of my prerelease, I GOT IT XDDDDDDDDD
i'm now looking for a man who can spend me $65 for it ;)

You guys know what?? I sold My charizard EX for 67 on e-bay, Sooooooo what. I use almost ecery penny I make on E-bay to buy cards... So get over it.

What Steve is trying to say is that every dime of that auction will go towards NEW product. This can only help support the game in the long run, yes? Personally, I think it's a good thing when a card like Charizard Ex can bring that kind of jack again like it used to say 3-4 years ago.

Yours already has a bidder at $35.

The next Charizard EX to close has 7.5 hours left and is at $26.

godevoir--I'm glad yours sold for that much. I don't think anyone is saying anything bad towards you. That's what someone wanted to pay for it--good for you! Plus I think that means there was 2 people willing to pay that much. Someone probably put in there max bid of say $70 and another guy kept bidding higher but couldn't get above the first bidders amount. I haven't used ebay for awhile but I think that's how it works. If something is at $5 and you bid $10, your bid will be shown as $5+the minimum bid increase unless someone else has a higher 'hidden' bid. So there was at least 2 potential big spenders on yours. So, maybe the next one to close will be at least $50. Pokemon is definetly alive and well!

seriously, no one is targetting you as a seller. We are just talking about how impatient and "wasteful" people can be over a card that they can easily get next week. If i were the seller, i would be happy too. Would YOU sell a card that is worth 20 early for 67, EVEN if you are called a ripper (which didnt even happen....its an auction)

i know i would ;)

As mentioned the prize on the Charex might have gone this high due to the "psychology" of eBay bidding. It's like gambling. No one starts playing at a slot machine with $200 they are willing to loose. No, they start small, and always think ...it's just 1 more dollar each time, and before they know it a lot of money has gone. Same thing on eBay. I have only gotten "bitten" by this once, and ended up bidding about $33 for an Armaldo prerelease.

Btw, if not too off-topic, lots of you americans probably have the Tropical Wind promo from Worlds, but may I ask for your guess on what amounts that would reach on eBay?

Man, I pulled that card out oof a pack at the PRE-RELEASE. Isn't that the point of the pre-release???? to get the cards before the release date?? Maybe you should get all teh info before you start raggong on people, and just get over it.
I think he was referring to the people that *paid* the money - not the sellers.
Common eBay ninny - pays way too much just so they can be first. Good timing for you guys tho - I buy and sell on eBay and I love to get 'em on there early just to see what they will run the price up to!
Anyway - chill - I don't think the comment was directed at you...

Just watched the linked auction close. Was at $41 with 1 min and 58 sec left.
$46 w/28 sec left
$51 w/3 sec left
$56 at close

All of this coversation have may be irrelevant. Spyro62 ( the buyer ) has decided he " made a mistake" and wont be taking the Zard. Then he goes and bids ( and wins) my second on Sat. night.I'm not sure who this DEADBEAT is, but to all of you potential traders on the gym - BEWARE of this guy. He OBVIOUSLY is not a man of his word!!!! NOT RIGHT at all!

This same bidder (Spyro62) also won my auction but now doesn't want to pay, blaming ebay for some "unusal" process that bid up his price. Yeah right (cough, cough).

Guess I might trade it.

My first charizard EX sold for 30$ right before all the others went on. Now I have a hard time selling the second one for the same price. Darn those ppl figuring out that its actually easy to get. >.<

BTW, anyone want to buy my signed National Championships Charizard by Arita?

You all had better leave that TRASH who bids and backs NEGATIVE FEEDBACK - and report him as a nonpaying bidder so he gets tossed off of e-bay.

Lord knows there are too many of those out there.

Get him off, before he trashes the rest of our auctions.

Erika, report him to E-bay as a non-paying bidder. I'll do the same. That will make 3 of them he'll be off of E-bay for good( remember, he got me TWICE!! Costing me over $100.) I even offered him one at the price the 2nd one went for ( $38.00) and i'd forget about the 1st auction. He said sure, won yours then fell of the planet.

He blamed his 10 year old kid for the bids w/me. Buyers like this need to be reported so legimate honest sellers don't have to put up w/ b.s. like this.

The zard actually does trade well.
