My first card was a Meowth from Jungle.

I got it from a soccer camp. All the boys and girls there had cards, and were trading and stuff during/after/before the camp, and one of them kindly gave me a freebie. (and others after) That's how I got into the card game.

Bulba wasn't in jungle. It was in the base set. Anyhow, my first card was a weepinbell from Jungle. One of the kids I babysat for gave it to me because he wanted me to get into the game. Well, I was into Pokemon already, so the next day, I made my mom take me to Toys R Us and I bought some packs and some of the theme decks. It became an addiction from there.

Wow, what a nice mom to buy all that w/o any notice...

Our neighbors were into Pokemon, and got my older brother involved. He went to some Pokemon event at like a TRU one time, and got like 5 blackstar promo Mews, and gave me a couple.

First card was actually 60 cards. I got the old Kangaskhan theme deck from Jungle as a goodie bag from my friend's birthday party. I still have that Kangaskhan, as battered and beat up as it is, in a Toploader. I'm thinking of signing it with my name, and then framing the thing along with my Prof Cup deck...

my first card was a japanesse dark hypno (i know, lucky me). i got into it because a lot of kids in my preschool were into it, and they got me hooked. my dad brought me a lot of japanesse booster packs that summer.

She didn't pay for them. I think she ended up paying for one of the theme decks total. I used my babysitting money for the rest of it.

Technically, my first card was a beaten up half-torn base set grass energy. I found it in the parking lot of a pet shop when I was like 8. I thought nothing of it.

A few weeks later, one of my friends gave me a Kabuto (go figure) and slowly, I got addicted.

My first card I actually looked at was Gyrados from base set, after I bugged my grandma to get me the Brushfire starter deck, thinking it had action figures in it. I got into it by entering a few local tournaments, and got back into it when I battled at my local card store against BK Minnis and got trashed. I got into the game from there, and the rest is history.

I think it was a Jungle eevee, I got for my birthday.
Friend got me a pack for my birthday opened it and only gave me the eevee

A charmeleon Base Set

It was in my "valintines day bag"

Basically it was 4th grade and all the kids in the class had to give a card to every OTHER person in the class. Some had candy and other stuff like that. Mine had a Pokemon Card in it. My friend then gave me his Pokemon card, which was a grass energy.

I still have the Charmeleon somewhere, but the grass energy is most likey long gone.
The next day I went and bought a pack which contained a Base Set Blastoise which I still have.

Pokemon Craze of 1999, nuff said.
My first two cards are Pikachu and Drowzee - both from Base set and its gone in the bin now because of being soaked up in the pool water accidently. :/

I was into Pokemon before it came to the United States. In elementary school I was very into Tomagatchi virtural pets (anybody remember the originals). My brother had bought a copy of Nintendo Power one day and it had an article about a new game out in Japan called Pocket Monsters. It claimed to be better than the Tomagatchi. From that point I went on the Internet (which was nowhere near as robust as it is now) and looked up all the information a young American who couldn't read Japanese could find about it.

I was in Junior High by the time it came stateside. My first card was a Base Set Charmander. A friend gave me $2 and that card in exchange for my lunch. I wasn't hungry anyway.

My mom gave me my first pack when the thing was new. The first card was a base set caterpie, and my first rare/holo was a Blastoise! :D

i think kindergarten when it came i out i was 5 and my friend got a machamp starter deck and he said he'd give me one and i kept asking for the machamp but he wouldn't so he gave me a charmander from base thanks conner :) and i just got into it.
