Not necessarily. A disconnect can happen without you doing anything.
I think you should have the chance to reconnect if you had an internet connection problem and not automatically lose the game. Simple solution: Your opponent does no action for two minutes = You win!

Hate to be that guy, but you can't fix everything. I would just take the d/c like a man.
In the majority of games, if you d/c it's loss. Yes, it's unfair, but nothing is perfect.
I think the current system will work best, though it would be nice if they implemented some kind of recovery from a d/c.

I found 2 bugs on my system, regarding to Rescue Energy.

1) I attached a Rescue Energy onto Emboar along with Pignite and Tepig. The moment it gets knocked out, I get Emboar and Pignite, but no Tepig. Meaning, Tepig remains in the discard pile instead.

2) I have a Reshiram that's poisoned and died from the poison effect. Yet, I was able to return Reshiram back to my hand.

Did the new rulings of Rescue take place, or is this a bug that the developers need to fix?

I am not sure if this bug is fixed. I recently had a game end where the player just left the room and the timer kept counting down leaving me in the "waiting" status (over 5 mins) and then the timer resets back to 20 mins. This happened about 3 hours ago.

The whole thing about rage-quitting... I have never been a part of that, but I hate when people leave the room without warning. I know that sometimes it's an unavoidable thing like a lost connection. The chat boxes (if they exist on PTCGO--I have not played it yet) are good for communicating with your opponent.

I used to play online chess on a certain site, and there was a chess timer on that (duh) as well as a thing saying if your opponent lost connection (it was able to detect that), it would offer you an opportunity to take it as either a no-play or as a win.

On an online bridge site that I play frequently nowadays, each person has a "board completion rate." Mine is 100%, but this one has no special thing if someone loses Internet connection. I use the chat boxes a lot there to let people know if I'm taking extra time for thinking or something.

Hmm. Maybe it's not fixed.
I had a game last night where the opponent was inactive for 15 minutes (he realized he was about to lose) and then dropped. But the game just waited and waited.

Can somebody give me a link to this game?

It's accessed through pokemontcg.com . But it's useless to give you a link if you don't have a code from a marked booster pack. Only those who enter a code can get the TCGO. Those who don't can only play the Trainer Challenge.

Just had the problem happen to me. Someone left, because they were losing. Timer just kept going. Happened twice in a row with the same person (and block user doesn't work yet). Anyway we could start a blacklist of players who are known rage quitters maybe? At least so we know in advanced?

Exactly what error message are most people getting when it seems their opponent quits?

Just now I was playing against someone. They were pretty close to winning, but then they just stopped playing, while the game was still on their turn. I waiting about 35 seconds, tried to talk to them with the chat, but no response. Continued waiting the full 13 or so minutes, then two seconds before the timer ran out I got "Sorry, we lost you there".

Could it be that at some point the game stopped relaying information between the two of us, and that he had finished his turn, and then waited for me to start mine? Or are other people getting different error messages than I am?

Don't forget that the game is still in beta!!! As I told you yesterday our games always seems to end for me in either a connection lost message or a fatal blue screen with cryptic messages (maybe the interaction of our decks does cause this?). The blue screens occasionally do also happen in games with other players (mostly with something like unexpected EOF reached). The connection lost message is quite typical for our (long?) games. So don't be to quick on judging other players because you can't see what's happening on the other side of the line. Unfortunately the current status of the game doesn't give you the possibilty to interact with each other after the games ends in an unexpected way... And also lags the possibility of reconnecting to game in progress (within a minute or so).

:< Wow, it's interesting to read all of this. I've played 9 games and not one hasn't been played out to the last prize. Only one conceded, and that was when I only had one prize left anyway. I've had major lag, but never any connection issues.

lol now you all know how video game players feel when they play on random wifi. It seems tcg online is having the same problems as us :(

Sorta sucks that this is a problem, however you cannot just outright punish those who drop with a loss because there could be legitimate issues on their side. I mean, sure they could develop software to keep track of like the gamestate or something to see if it's an act of cowardice or whatnot (example, you're clearly ahead on prizes and your opponent is down and leaves), but that's probably more time than they're willing to put into the system. So yeah...maybe a ticket filing system or something I think so you can complain and ask for it to properly record a win or something, but as long as there's a way to cheat the system, people will...

Just had it happen to me four times in a row and even after using the chat to ask my opponent not to just drop and even when they said they would not.

However I have had the chat window open and watched each letter I typed slowly appearing and the game slowed to a virtual standstill :(

That said when it works and your opponent plays fair it is brilliant! Personally I can't wait till the friend and block players options are working those that drop and run will end up with no one to play :D

It actually says that regardless of how angry they are at the time.

True. It is also the "I ran out of power" and "I lost my connection" message.

But, when you see someone leave the room as soon as you play your Donphan Prime and they have a field of Fighting weak Pokemon.... you know it's not a connection problem.
